Just got Diper Overlode and Big Shot recently as a gift! Big Shot was one of my top 5. But Diper Overlode is in my top 3. The new books kinda gives me Old School vibes with all the unique characters! I hope the next book is just as good, if not better.

Me and my brother were so happy for this to come out and I did not disappoint! We even got signed copys at a loaded diper concert. Jeff Kinney was very fun and friendly in person

I like the new focused style, it used to be where the books would basically be filer until the very end where the actual main plot comes in and that style in the books was starting to become worse and worse. The new style fixes the problem. Though I do think in the older books the filer style worked really well.

Rowley actually did get famous later as the great slambino in the ecw, aew, and wwe he was famous for his patented Jefferson reverse slam and gentlemen's manners. He never became a heel and was active in the Marine Corps Reserve where he was drafted to the second Korea and saved his platoon by making a sacrifice play. He was honored posthumously with the medal of honor and the medal of freedom and buried next to the unknown soldier where his grave is guarded by a Marine honor guard as a national monument.

This was the first wimpy kid book I’ve read in YEARS, with the last one being the getaway. I have to say, other than being salty I didn’t get the copy with the poster (I got the target exclusive with the sticker) this was one of my best reads, as it’s been AGES since I’ve read wimpy kid so I thought Kinney lost his touch after doing 17 books, but boy was I wrong. Rodrick being my favorite character, and the most relatable as I’m an older brother that loves rock and roll, I had a blast with this book, is it better than “rodrick rules”? Probably not, but this was a grand ol time. Plus I like the black color scheme for the wimpy kid books, the last one that did this was old school and I liked the plot of that one and how Greg ends up in summer camp, plus I liked the cover art due to the black color scheme and how Greg was holding a boom box with a tape in his hand, as at the time I was huge into cassettes. As for the plot, that twist ending was pretty sick to me, and reminded me of phineas and ferb with love Handel. Overall, loved this one, kinda wish Greg actually learned guitar as that would’ve been an interesting development, but I think the plot made since for the wimpy kid universe, as Greg learning to shred would’ve been against his character

I do prefer these last 2 with a more focused story. They aren't so hyper focused on it that it becomes boring, they have enough variety that it feels a bit more like the early days of the series instead of the more meandering the last like 8 or 9 have felt like, with some exceptions.
