Kobe scoring had nothing to do with the outcome of that game. Bottom line, the better team won!

I loved Kobe as a player, but I think he was making a statement by only taking 3 shots. He didn’t necessarily tank the game, but I’m sure he knew there was a high probability The Lakers wouldn’t win a game in which he only took 3 shots.

@@over1498 Kobe was making a point to Phil Jackson. Phil Jackson said he needed to move the ball more for them to win and he said to him okay and that’s exactly what he did and they got blown out. He was sending a message to the coach and the Lakers front office that the team sucked and they needed to make changes in order to actually win a chip. Remember, this was before the star players had all the power in the franchise like they do now.
