Have owned some 50 bikes in the past and my '22 Z900 is probably my favorite. Super torquey 4 banger. Love this smooth engine. Takes off in 4th as easy as 1st. Great video. Thanks.

What did you put on the Z900 to make it to a race bike, I have a Z900 too I want to make it like that
@cp45122 жыл бұрын
That looks much better than a standard Z900. Kawasaki should make a race inspired Z900 for the road.

Behold. The new Kawasaki Z900 SE. It’s got a few updates like this bike except from the factory

You can get sticker packages for it.
@exothermal.sprocket Жыл бұрын
It's a "livery" as they say. Stickers. The rest is race-prepped stuff that Kawasaki will NEVER offer for the road and neither would any other brand. That's up to owners to purchase and install. But as he said, minimal things.

In the online debate about naked bikes, the Z900 seems to get relegated to the back and few people give it any thought. Honestly I think it's one of the best for this sort of thing, minimal setup to get it very competitive in the sub-1L class. It's not a featherweight, but the chassis is very confidence inspiring, stable, planted. The engine is so buttery smooth but has plenty of grunt everywhere.
@StarryNightSky5876 ай бұрын
"minmial setup"? you mean replacing brakes, suspension, get semisport tires and change gear ratios?

@@exothermal.sprocket I don’t see why I would deliberately pick a 225kg bike as my base, that needs all critical parts replaced Don’t even get me started on clutch problems, when it gets hot on summer days…

@@StarryNightSky587 So what is your pick? A race replica? R6? 636? Daytona? If so, none of those offer anywhere near the comfort and versatility of an all-rounder.
@StarryNightSky5876 ай бұрын
@@exothermal.sprocket i have a z900 and tried to use it for track days, it just doesn’t cut it - especially on brake heavy tracks and in high temperatures. I would generally not advise dual use. So if you are on an absolute budget, buy any used, older 600 SSP model - there is tons of aftermarket fairings and parts available. Crashing then becomes a non issue, because it can always be fixed cheaply. With more budget I would go for a 2016ish bmw s1000rr, with minimal investment this can carry you straight into red group effortlessly.

Do you absolutely need rearsets to go trackday on a roadster ?
@exothermal.sprocket Жыл бұрын
Lighter, better foot traction, much more precise actuation of transmission and brake, and a welcome addition if you're going to run a quickshifter. For track use, probably somewhat higher up for better leaning clearance. That, with improved suspension, it'll dive deep into corners without bottoming out.
@DIVA-MC-7 Жыл бұрын
@@exothermal.sprocket yeah because bottoming out is an issue for us right now. Bought a set, and harder forks springs too 👏

@@DIVA-MC-7 Nice. Yeah people may not realize that the faster and harder a motorcycle corners, the more the suspension compresses from centrifugal force around the curve.
