Big guys can be sneaky as all heck. My old boy was three feet at the shoulders and 150lbs (Alaskan Malamute). The friendliest goof in the world, but he could sneak up on you super quiet and put his muzzle in your hand to ask for pets. It freaked people out occasionally in the dog parks.

Ask every shop around the block, eventho im a shy person, really had to suck that up for his sake. Went seeking from morning till night only to find out he was in the car the entire time. Honestly respect to the store owner for not just forcing him out and instead trying to get him home. The poor little guy would have gotten hit by a car if they didn’t take the time to call someone and just threw him out in a hurry to close up. And he’s a smart dog because he knew staying in a place with lots of people would be his best way of getting home.

I think he got out of the yard, got lost, and wound up in the area around the store and remembered because he might have previously been there with the owner. It was the only familiar place he could have gone to in order to look for his owner, so he did.

@@richardsmith1331 if its been a few years, he probably isnt around anymore. They don't live very long. Most times, the bigger the dog is, the younger they die. I would say 6-7 years is average for a dog that big. I had a great dane that lived 7 yrs and that was good. And then tiny dogs like chihuahuas live like 20 years very often. And it's no surprise when they live 15, 16 yrs.

I’m in charge of a warehouse and the main boss brings in his dogs and encourages employees to bring theirs as well and it honestly makes the work environment so much happier I think more work places should allow to have dogs around(if it’s safe for them to be around of course) it creates a happier place to work in

I'm a professional dog trainer and I *Iove* the approach those officers took--the high, happy voices, the petting, the overall upbeat happy attitudes. My guess is that Bentley was actually tired of the heat--giant dogs overheat incredibly easily--and didn't want to go back outside into the heat and humidity. Can't blame him, I feel exactly the same way! Thanks to great police attitudes and microchipping, the story has a happy ending.

I'm just scrolling through videos, and this pops up. Now I'm crying. Lost my dog Solo about a year ago. He was 135 lbs of just absolute kindness and everybody loved him. Only made it to 7. Love you big dummy and I miss you. I quit drinking after he died. 20 years of life I missed. My dude died so I could be free.

I just love how the officers aren't even mad about having to deal with a dog let alone a large one that can be hard to maneuver out, but Bentley definitely is one of the greatest good boy's, kuddos to the officers as well!

Reminds me of our local Tesco cat named Spartacus! His home is right across from the store but he likes to hang out in Tesco in his designated cat bed until night time when he decides to go home. His family and the store manager have told people not to feed him because he’s well looked after and they don’t want him getting too chubby! 🥺😭❤️

We had a store across the street and there was a dog who would come in everyday and stayed until they gave him a packet of Doritos. He did this for years. They even donated Doritos when the poor Roxy died. This video just reminded me of how cute and funny it was.

The police handled it amazingly, they weren’t like budging him but instead they were very gentle with the amazing doggo and they were just amazing officers. The store owners and the police were amazing. Bravo to the way you handled it.

The store manager says they'd tried to force him out of the shop.. right next to a road in the middle of the night (at 0:55). Glad he decided not to budge! Big thumbs-up to the cops, though; handled perfectly with calm, friendly voices, etc. : )

Yeah I figured the doors were automatic n he figured out when he got close enough n decided to stroll on in! What a good boy! Glad they settled it peacefully n he was taken care of. Good on his owner’s for microchipping their animal, that really helps a lot. I used to work at a shelter in town in it was such a relief when the animals were chipped n the info was updated! That saved alot of heartache for all involved!
