jorden durden lol the English colonies were only on the eastern coast. Within the 18th century, the proclamation line prohibited these colonists to expand west into the Appalachian Mountains therefore protecting native lands. This being said, the English didn’t even take up all of the eastern board. Territories such as Florida and debatably Georgia were owned by the Spanish. French also colonized various provinces in between. This isn’t even taking into account all of the western board where, Spain inhabited, such as mesoamerica and what is today present day California, Arizona, etc. So your argument that the English were the ones who only owned territory is completely irrational. Not only that, but they probably only took up like 15% of territory in America during the 18th century. So please, correct your ignorance by doing some research before you even think about writing a rebuttal. Thank you and have a good day.

My mom and dad immigrated to the u.s. from Romania before I was born. My dad knows English, but my mom’s English is very weak so my dad and I usually have to translate for her. Anyway, about 10 years ago, my mom and I were walking around the mall when an old guy yelled at her for not knowing English and reprimanded me (an 11 year old child) for translating for her. Not even 10 seconds later, another old guy came over and full on verbally attacked the guy. His name was Peter. He defended us and made the guy leave. My mother had never been given such kindness from an American that she started crying with joy. She said thank you about a thousand times and gave him the biggest hug ever. He ended up becoming a really good friend of my parents until he passed away a few years ago. I will forever be grateful for what Peter did for my mom.

Kbear2097 your mother is a pathetic excuse for an immigrant. She's lazy and selfish. My family immigrated from Italy and they all LEARNED ENGLISH. They loved being American citizens and prided themselves for being able to completely mesh into America and feel like true Americans. Proud of that lady for standing up for that Mexican woman, the Mexican people were here first in North America until the European immigrants pushed them out to Mexico. All the America's, North Central and South America were indigenous Native Americans, who were overcome by the Europeans and in this case the Spaniards conquered the indigenous Native American people of what is now known as Mexico, that is why they now speak Spanish, to tell them they can't speak Spanish in a country they were here first before the Europeans migrated here is Ludacris ignorant and hateful, I hope they prosecute that lady to the fullest extent of the law of making her an example to open people's eyes from ignorance.

Oh, the irony. So many of America’s towns and cities have Spanish names. Even the name “America” is of Spanish origin. Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Florida, Las Vegas, etc, etc, etc.
@RebeLioness6 жыл бұрын
Nope. "America" name come from : Wikipedia 《Amerigo Vespucci ( March 9, 1454 - February 22, 1512) was an Italian explorer, financier, navigator and cartographer. Born in the Republic of Florence [ ... ] Colloquially referred to as the New World, it came to be termed "the Americas", a name derived from Americus, the Latin version of Vespucci's first name 》
@katew.1766 жыл бұрын
@The Sap Rises From Our Roots it's actually Latin. America is the feminine version of the name. Americus is the masculine. Like Maximus vs Maxima. So it's really neither Spanish nor Italian.
