It's no secret that the engine is becoming outdated. It's going to take them time to update it so it can be used for Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. So it kind of makes sense that they are doing this. On the other hand, maybe this is Obsidians follow up to New Vegas? Cause that would be awesome.

Yea but fallout 3 and new vegas wasen't made by the same studio, so new vegas was in production at the same time as fallout 3. Also while new vegas does update the engine a tad its in most cases the same as fallout 3's engine (it could be argued that its more of a standalone expansion to fallout 3 rather then a completely new game, at least from a engine perspective). Btw, don't get me wrong, i love fallout: new vegas.

Well let's have a rundown. If obsidion is not making it, then here is what bethesda needs to perfect from fallout 4 1. Huge focus on RPG. we want an rpg with shooter elements, not the other way around. 2. Complex, original storyline. fallout 3 find your dad, fallout 4 find your son. The storyline from the pitt or point lookout would be awesome as an original game on its own. 3. Better endings. seriously...two endings? No variations on your deeds throughout the game? Fallout new vegas did the endings as it should be. 4. More sidequest and better locations. this game has 38 non faction side quest....38. compared to Skyrim which has over way more than that. and if you count all quest in total fallout is around 105 and skyrim at well over 300 quest.

The guy who voiced 3dog was likely referring to his role with Shoddycast's 'The Storyteller' series where he voices 3dog in some of the episodes of the show. If you haven't seen 'The Storyteller' and you like Fallout I highly reccomend you watch it as it talks about the lore of the entire series through the eyes if 'The Storyteller', a Brotherhood of Steel member.

You might have had more fun playing New Vegas over 4, but that doesn't make it a better game. New Vegas in my experience was a big buggy mess that was almost unplayable, and that was the case for most other people. Fallout 4 is a better game overall.

The odds for ES VI coming out before another Fallout game are minimum. Todd Howard said that they have some ideas for a new Elder Scrolls game, but they just don't have the technology for it yet. Best thing to do is just buy the Skyrim Special Edition, play the shit of it and find something else to to. 'cause ES VI is probably not coming out soon, unfortunately. A lot of people disagree with Bethesda for making a remaster of Skyrim, and I totally agree, Morrowind or Oblivion would be much better, but hey, maybe they will do that in the huge time gap that will probably be between Skyrim Special Edition and Elder Scrolls 6 (I really hope so). And maybe it's best if they wait a few years before producing ES IV, I mean, I don't think we want an Elder Scrolls game that sucks as much as Fallout 4 (compared to the other FO games).

Off course Bethesda tends to try to make as many past options as possible a possibility, but sometimes even they have to say "this didnt happen" or "this happened"

I played all of them fallout 3 and 4 being my favorite ..I enjoy the voices it's wasn't bad once I played...I went into fallout 4 with low expectations and now I play it almost everyday...Just like I do with 3 still till this day...Vegas was a disappointment by osidian and Bethesda is the only company I will trust to make fallout or elder scrolls period...I seen other companies try and fail.

The three dog thing might have been about ShoddyCast's (a youtube channel) series called "The Storyteller: FALLOUT". The series starts of as just a voice telling fallout stories, but they eventually turn the storyteller into a real character (i think it starts in the second season but i might be mistaken), in his adventures he has a eye bot following him around, said eyebot starts playing messages from threedog after some time (i belive they got his voice actor to help them).

Hopethey take away settelment and vault buiding in fallout 5 and change it to quest dlc's instead. They need to keep weapons and gear moding. also the Tweet about 3 Dog is just quest of three dog in fallout shelter unique characters will have personal quests. Me I think 3 Dog will have the very 1st personal quest in fallout shelter

The settlement builder is a perfectly functional addition to fallout, i see no reason to simply scrap the whole concept and replace it with 'quest dlc' people like building things and between building something unique and running off to kill more raiders id rather build.

Both of the Wasteland Workshop DLC could have been mods and were already mods in the older fallout games and in my opinion the workshop DLCs were complete crap with only 2 actually big DLCs with far harbor and soon to be nuka world in the total 6 DLC that their making and the rest going to be workshop crap, the workshop is cool and shouldn't be cut but they should make REAL DLC not just updates to something that i'll barely use

I want a Fallout game that takes place 1000+ years from when the bombs have dropped where there is a dramatic change to the environment, but not too dramatic in the sense of the world as a whole being rebuilt, but still that apocalytic essence that makes fallout what It is, still having remaining threats and the 50's - 60's American culture vibe or maybe a sort of progression from said vibe to more of a 80's futuristic setting, like a Bladerunner esque inspiration for the hypothetical game I speak of.
