Mark-Paul is a good guy. He is talented, intelligent, & kind. Certainly via these chaotic times.. esp in the industry, it's inspiring to see Mark-Paul. He is honest & maintains a positive energy that few do today.

He was cruel to Dustin diamond.
@lesliewyatt41882 ай бұрын
@remhk6672 I didn't get the opportunity to meet Dustin. They were quite young when they began acting via Good Morning, Mrs. Bliss & SBTB. Some ppl who developed friendships grow apart. The entire main cast went in their own independent directions. Albeit, with occas. appearances & mentions. No doubt, Dustin struggled & went through periods of anger. His book was rushed bc he had a hard time with finding work. Also, there were inconsistencies that he attempted to change later. I believe Dustin, those who assisted him with writing it probably did overdramatize & alter his accts. Certainly, they have done this in the past to gain more interest from fans.

I was a big fan of Saved By The Bell when I was young and if Mark-Paul still doesn't know why it was popular or why it still is with children is this : - he was a very cute teen boy, - the way his character Zac Morris spoke directly to the camera was very unusual at the time which makes the show very original, - the 3 girls were very pretty too - and the whole show didn't took itself too seriously and it was good fun. Simple as that. :)

Pitch was actually a really good show that I was disappointed to see get cancelled. Then again it was on FOX and they usually cancel stuff prematurely. I mean look at shows like Firefly and John Doe.

Dead Man on Campus really got me into MPG. As a 90s kid I grew up watching SBTB but that movie in his early after years showed me he wasn't a one trick pony and I really rooted for him since then. Glad to see he's a kind and humble guy to boot. Would love to sit back and kick it with him.

Great interview. I decided to rewatch some of Mixed-ish, and wow, I think white America just wasn't ready for it. I wish it would get picked up again. Make it required viewing for middle-school kids, make Black-ish required viewing for high school kids and we'd live in a kinder, wiser, and more just America. You did such a great job presenting a passionate progressive who still has much to learn/unlearn, Mark-Paul Gosselar. Balancing so many facets - sensitivity, paternal attention, centering yourself in the wrong conversations, righteousness and rightfulness - with perfect comic timing is a rare talent.

I really liked Pitch and was really upset when it was cancelled. I think people still love Saved By the Bell in general because it doesn't take itself too seriously. It leans into the silly side but it always ends in a heartfelt way. You leave the show feeling good about it and you kinda learn a lesson at the same time. I've watched every incarnation of SBTB from the 80's to the the 2020's and I love every one of them. Respect to you Sir!

Pitch was really good and I truly loved his role in it. It was the first thing of his I watched that I didn’t see Zack Morris but rather the character. Was such a huge fan when I was a kid that it was hard to not see the character every time the actor appeared on a project except for this show All the actors in the series were great and the writing gave me the same good feeling of this is us. Had no idea it’s as the same creator !

I have watched and/or listened to many of these interviews and once of the recurring themes for most of the actors is uncertainty and how they have had to deal with it. Yes, most are much more wealthy than I will ever be, but the uncertainty is the same for all of us. I work in academia and it's not as competitive as Hollywood by any measure but the lives that all of lead are so similar regardless of profession. I'm a Gen X kid as well, and maybe there is just some uncertain way of thinking that our generation has. This weird sort of learned helplessness. I've been through a lot of this depression and anxiety that these people have gone through, and it legitimately sucks. I'm happy that these actors are so open about their experiences.

NYPD Blue when he played a detective was my favorite character on television. The only thing I liked in Saved by the Bell is the Fourth Wall break just as Ferris Bueller's day off. You can kind of tell that the show was kind of inspired by John Hughes story and Ryan Reynolds of course used that approach with breaking the fourth wall talking to the audience lol.

There is such a big misconception about acting and money. When a show ends unless you got something on the back end, unless you were great with your money you have to worry about things especially if you have a family, divorce is friggin expensive. Is he poor, no but he is better than most. But for an actor who doesnt have a steady gig that is scary. Like he said nothing is a guarantee and you have to get lucky.

Fantastic interview. I was reading a book about the making of Columbo and Steven Bochco is mentioned, as when he was a young writer,, Actor Peter Falk (despite his creative differences a lot of the time with the producers) always praised his writing and asked him back to write more and for his advice over the years of the show, so there's a little bit of pay it forward there by the look of it. I hadn't realised Bochco has passed.
