I also rewatched this recently and didn't find it as scary as my first viewing, but like you guys mentioned this movie ushered in a new era of horror movies so we just got used to its style. Scariest thing about this movie is that the ghosts and spirits are all around the characters but in a different movie. Gives all of the insidious movies a creepy watch when you have that in mind.

6:40 growing up, we never slept with the doors closed. It allowed the dog and cat to come in and out as they wanted. My parents did close theirs from time to time... 😏 It wasn't until I started living with roommates that I closed the door at night. But now that I'm currently single, the door to my bedroom is always open. It allows my dog to come in and out, depending on where she decides she wants to sleep. ;-)

Yeah I’ll be honest when I first watched this movie when I got to the part where the devil looking guy appeared behind him I immediately had to stop watching it because it freaked me out so much. I just a few months back or so I think I either finished it or just have watched people’s reactions to it because I feel like Insidious might be too scary for me but I don’t know lol. The anticipation of jump scares freaks me out a lot of the times so much so I put off watching a horror movie even after I’ve started it. 😂🤣 And since Elizabeth said she likes paranormal type horrors I wonder if she’d enjoy the Paranormal Activity movies. There’s 7 of them, 7th one just came out recently. They are like found footage type of paranormal movies. Also I don’t know if y’all would be interested in watching two oldies (not paranormal) which are Rear Window and The Birds both by Alfred Hitchcock. Also not sure if Mirrors is considered Horror but it certainly made me jump so I’d recommend that lol.
