I find, when I'm sitting with her and holding her hand, I become flooded with memories of my childhood with her. I found comfort in the routines she created for us. As a very busy mom of 3 young children, I’m looking forward to (hopefully) more calm and relaxing evenings as they get a little older. It was so soothing to watch the self care routines, the romantic way you dress and decorate your home, as well as the music chosen. I almost felt like I was watching a vintage film with modern commentary! You’ve inspired me to try and weave some more romantic qualities into my day to day life. Such a lovely evening routine. I also clean up as I go pretty much all day long-it’s stressful to finish a nice meal and then look at a mountain of things to clean up afterwards. We say Grace before every supper, even when we have guests.

I enjoyed this video so much. Especially the after dinner time where you spent time with your hubby playing pickle ball and then dancing with your daughters. Does your husband every join in on the dancing? I'm sure your daughters would love it. That was really special 💖 Our dinner time is between 5 and 6, depending on when my son gets home from work. He usually lets me know when he's on the way home which is 45 minutes away. I call my mom, who lives in another state, at 7 each night. After that I get myself ready for the evening so I can relax before bed.

What a great video Nikki. I so enjoyed this , with the girls they have grown up so fast. They are so beautiful. The dancing was such a joy to see. When my girls were going up we always ate every meal at the table together, especially supper that was the time to share about your day .supper was always at 5:30pm . I miss those days. They are grown with grown children of there own now. But we are still setting at the table. Thank you for sharing the girls with us.

Hi Nikki what a beautiful video. When l was young we always sat around the table and ate. We would say a prayer for the food we were about to eat. It was a lovely time there were 6 of us. Now my grown up children always have their meals with their children around the table it's just lovely. It was so lovely to see you and your daughter's enjoying dancing you all are great dancers. Dinner at our house around 3.30pm.

Supper is around 6:30 at our home because of my husband's schedule. But my adult children are eating at all hours. One works until 10p, one until 1a, and another is preparing his own dinner around 3 or 4a. And finally the baby, who is 13, is in a sport which practices through supper. It is such a seemingly chaotic evening, but my mornings are pretty quiet since the older ones are all asleep 😊

Most of the tume 5pm is dinnertime though it may be as late as 6pm on some days....when life interferes. 😉 I loved this series. You always give me something to think about or reflect on. I look forward to the next on organizing. One can always be more organized! 😘🌹❤🌹

Hi Nikki, So beautiful to see your family gathered around the table for dinner beginning with prayer: this is essential in our homes today! Dinner is scheduled for 5 unless someone requests a little later time because of a schedule demand. Like you, we never answered the phone during dinner, never had a radio or tv playing and we were not allowed to schedule something during 5 pm dinner. Do you ever give your dinner scraps or compost to your chickens? There are a few foods they should not eat but we enjoy seeing their reactions to different foods. Thanks for these essential thoughts; I, too, like to freshen up before dinner when I can.

Yes we do, but we don't give them the chicken bones which is what was being thrown away in this video 🌹

Dinner time is 6 for us. At the end of the day a nice bath 🛁 with epson salt and lavender body wash. 🪥 and floss, wash my face and nighttime products such as Estee Lauder, orbLancome retinol serum.

You truly are amazing. I strive to be at least 50% of how you are as a homemaker. My children are 1 and 4 and honestly I’m always tired. I don’t have a ton of support and my hubby loves to go places and also buys things. He is amazing and a provider. House work and gardening isn’t up his alley nor getting rid of things. My littles are wild which i love but i feel my time is limited. How did you do all the “things” when your kids were little and they constantly wanted your time and attention. Im looking for women to inspire me and help me grow. It seems like older women don’t want to talk about their experiences and how they handled different situations.

I know it's a cliche and it doesn't feel like that when you are in the middle of it day in and day out, but still... Know that my life today looks completely different than it did when mine were as young as yours. We must find what works best for each season and with those within our household and that takes a considerable amount of continuous change and flexibility. I think that's why it's so hard to give advice. Most know we are all just feeling our way through and it's everyone's first time, therefore nobody can really say they are an expert. It's like raising multiple children, all the same way with the same values yet, they all turn out so different. The only thing that I consider to be a one size fits all approach is to put God first and train up our children in the Lord.
