Sorry if I got a bit carried away with my playing! But the God honest truth is I couldn't stop playing with this overdrive pedal! It just sounded so great no matter the setting. Best demo ever of the Hot Wax!! You are the boss!! I would like to buy it but I have a question about the noise of this pedal: i notice thet when you switch on the Hot Tube section there is a lot of noise. Is it correct? is there noise also with other amplifier/guitar/settings? Thank you Boss!

@@micheletobia1993 I saw that no one has answered your question, so I will since I own one. The hot tubes are sensitive to your playing and want pedals you put after it in the chain. It sounds like he has a reverb pedal going through and so it's making the sensitivity go up. When I play mine, it doesn't sound like in the video, and you can look up other videos and see the same thing, hope this helps you

Thanks to your great demo I bought this pedal a week ago and i love it! Combining the Hot wax overdrive with my Bugeras own overdrive even gets to distortion. My 2 cents: I'm no pro but I've used this pedal with the horrible Boss Katana (it helped it a bit). fantastic with my Vox AC 10, great if you have no EQ pedal or on your amp (as on my little blackstar HT1), great with my korg volca bass and drum synths. So versatile and inexpensive (black friday!). I'm keeping this one.

Lovin my Hot Wax. Huge range and flexibility as you've shown. Also great with Fuzz in front, that Blend control becomes a powerful tool for keeping the grit of the Fuzz (Russian Muff Pi for me) whilst still getting a bigger fuller tone with the OD. EHX rocks, great pedals at prices people can afford, without the Boutique BS.

The Governor in Exile Hi. By this demo I could tell the hot tubes side would do an awesome clean volume boost already using the distorted crayon side. With the porpoise to sound louder for a solo, I'm I right?

The Hot Tubes side is a little darker due to the slightly scooped mids compared to the Crayon, but you can certainly use it to give a boost to your already driven sound. Set the Crayon up for your base sound, then start with the Hot Tubes Drive Zeroed (fully anti clockwise- it's still adding drive/gain even in this position) adjust volume to get the level of boost you're looking for. Whilst slightly thickening the tone, the Hot Tubes also reacts to your pick attack so giving you added control through how aggressive you are on the strings. Also works the other way, Hot Tubes as the base drive then Crayon for the boost, that's the beauty of this pedal its both great sounding and versatile. Again, start with the drive zeroed for your boost and take it from there. Hope that helps.

Good demo. I also really liked your EHX Muff reissues demo (Green Russian & Opamp), which led to me acquiring both. I love to stack the GR into the IC based (opamp) Muff for maximum fuzziness! Otherwise, GR for rhythm, opamp for leads, with a booster. I have heard players complain that the Crayon can produce that harsh "ice-pick" sound. Did you notice any harsh, unpleasant high-end when using the Crayon in isolation? IIf it can do that, it seems to me it might make a good treble-booster type effect. I liked the tones you got with your rig, but ofc everyone's rig is different. Idk if this would work with my Strat & Fender amps.

The EHX claims the Hot Tubes is very touch sensitive and warm, the great thing is that the bass n treb controls also apply to the Hot Tubes! Never seen that before in a dual pedal!

I noticed a weird sound (RF interference noise?) whenever you switched on the Hot Tubes side - at 17:30. I didn't hear it when the Crayon was engaged. Do you think that it is something inherent in the pedal (design issue)? Can you comment on what you think that might have been?

I believe it's a normal thing with the pedal....there is that slight noise when cranking the Hot Tubes side..
