My mom always loved luna moths. When she passed, a luna moth flew into the funeral home as our family was leaving after the visitation. My sister and I are convinced it was a message to let us know that Mama was happy, and that she loved us. So I definitely appreciate moths and I am always reminded of my mother and her love whenever I see one.

I think a 6x6 canvas is as small as I would go. I can barely see those tiny watercolors you did last year. But I remember that video!! Oh my gosh you found your sketchbook!! YAY!!! My favourite moth is, and had always been, the lunar moth. I used to live up in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, and we got SO many beautiful moths on our window screens at night that I would go around the house and observe them. I once saw a moth that was all different kinds of browns with these two giant red circles, that I'm sure are supposed to mimick eyes, and the little guy was nearly the size of my face! It was MASSIVE! I had never seen a moth so huge. I tried finding it online, and I haven't seen it anywhere yet. Another moth type, that was a lot less rare, that I really enjoyed watching was this species that looked like a fighter jet! That one is a light brown/yellow colour ^-^. I prefer butterflies just because I am a fan of bright and jewel tone colours, and I have a weakness for the swallowtail shape. That said, I love moths too. They absolutely gave a special place in my heart. About your traveling to Canada, if you ever visit either Toronto, or Haliburton (the later is VERY forested) let me know! I'm happy to be a tour guide, health depending. I will only take you to well populated areas, for safety, I never want people to think I'm anything less than kind and genuine, and I can take you to places that are both touristy and favourites of a local family. Speaking of family, it would be my fiance, my son, and me that would be hosting the tour, as I'm in a wheelchair and I need my fiance to push me, and my son isn't quite old enough to spend a whole day home by himself, yet. Yay family outing fun! If it's Halitown (Haliburton) which I doubt, but at the same time think you would not only prefer to Toronto, but absolutely LOVE, I'd show you around the town proper and give you as much info as I could about the wilderness and things to do there. Honestly I think you would absolutely die from loving living there so much, if you did. It's not only a wonderland of lakes and forests, but it's a quiet tourist town, AND they have an art college there called Sir Sandford Flemming, that offer credited art courses that span from fine arts to things like guitar building! I lived there for years and every video of yours that I watch reminds me so much of Haliburton.

Ahh, it’s so wonderful to meet someone else with such a dear appreciation for Lepidoptera!! Thanks for sharing. Also, your town sounds BEAUTIFUL!! Hi Mira, I'm happy you found your sketchbook. Thunderstorms make me nervous too. I began acrylic painting last year. I bought small canvas panels, 5 x 7. Right now I have up to 8 x 10. I do have bigger canvas pads, Watercolor is something I started this year. Lots of crafting and art time this year. I love it all. Oh, I subscribed about two months ago, maybe only one. It’s so funny, The first painting(s) I was ever paid for was several I did for my grandfather and his presents for my sister and cousins. They were little tiny watercolors for their doll houses that he was making for them. So he gave me a little 1“ x 2“ wood framed watercolor paper “Canvases” and I painted one abstract two landscapes and a doggy portrait. I earned a whole $10! These days 4 x 4 is tiny for me big is 3‘ x 6‘ I would love to see your big like that. Keep working keep creating and keep being yourself! Have a lovely day.

Hi Mira. Needle-nose pliers in your art station will help open paints. When they're newly opened, put some saran wrap over the tops before you cap them again. That'll do it. :) Waiting for my pins and washi to come in! XD Oh! And most of my paintings are from 4x6 in to 12x12! So that's more medium to me, like you suggested. :)

I expected the paintings to be at least 4 times smaller lol. I do love the paintings though. So glad he found your sketchbook!! To answer your question, that 6 by 6 I would see as somewhat as a standard but still on a smaller side but tiny imo is way smaller than just small. I just need to grow a lot first before I’m going to grab for my 8 by 10 canvasses than I’ve had since the beginning of my adult art journey. Also love watercolor more instead of acrylics just because the clean-up is a lot less energy-consuming and I tend to go on too long so that’s a problem when using acrylics. So those canvasses will be waiting for a long while though. Never dared to use my oil paints because I can’t get in the vicinity of those chemicals and with all the paint I have, can’t justify spending money on water-soluble yet.

I paint in acrylics on rocks...so they're pretty small. When I painted in watercolor, the majority of my work was a quarter sheet (sometimes smaller). So tiny, is relative - but the watercolors you showed would qualify. Either way, your work is beautiful.

I find it interesting how different artists prefer different sizes. Long comment warning: First, this is very tiny to me. I started painting 2d images in college and my professor had us make 3 ft by 4 ft stretcher bars. I learned to love painting in that class and have always painted large because of it. Usually my go to is 16 x 20. So 6x6 is soooo tiny! But I do a lot of sketching and mixed media in a 9 x 12 sketchbook. Second, more Blubbleflies please. Mine was one of the orders you packed. I bought every Blubblefly item plus the create kindness pin. I reaaaallllyyyy need a Blubblefly mug, mouse pad and anything else you can stick a Blubblefly on. Plus, can you do a Blubblefly video? It's like that saying "you can never step in the same river twice." Water shifts and changes so much, especially when it's in something like a river, that it's not the same body of water from one second to the next. And if you take it to a microbial level, water is such a microbe breading ground that even they are constantly shifting, changing, growing... I love water so much, it's a massive cornerstone to life itself, and so important to sustain said life.

What you are describing at 5:20-ish is known within drama circles as a "frame of reference". Each character in a performance has a different frame of reference and the audience has another frame (usually the largest). I had to do a presentation on this at uni and I used a very similar description to you! "If two people look out of the same window at the same time they will see different things because they have different frames of reference." I hope you found this interesting!
