For someone who is not terribly gifted in the art of composition, these tools provide me with ideas and starting points from which I can develop, like yourself, an effective workflow for creating music with the amazing sample libraries I have in my collection. Your videos are an excellent source for people like me.

What yet another outstanding video. I have Scaler and reMidi and tomorrow I’ll have InstaComposer. I spent 2 days after watching your last video working on orchestral music. Your video left me with more than countless variations of different compositions. Guess I’ll have to see what I can do with all of new ideas you’ve inspired. Keep em coming….👍🏻

Instacomposer's AI is my favorite so far out of all the MIDI generators I've tried, and I like that each track can be set to a different "type" as well as a different MIDI channel. There are some features I hope they add, like more scales and modes. I would definitely think dragging chord progressions would be cool too. Thanks for making this video, I like discovering different ways to approach a composition.

Thanks for the video, a good midi vst to use with scaler i think..still trying to work through and get the hang of these combinations. Another vst that you should try out is...UNIFY, dont know if you've heard of it.. a real mind blower.A great vst for a series of your tutorials.

Thanks for the run through. Something I see, with all writing tools you will always have to tweak the hell out of the results, as it should be. We shouldn't rely on apps to write for us. It will be the death of culture, which is already instafied to death. But the good thing is they give songwriters new ideas if you feel like you're in a rut.

I have a question for you. I have no music theory experience up until now I've been using scalar 2 I haven't been using scalar for very long but what I am realizing is that using scalar 2, you are limited in sounds that they offer as well as the progressions. In my situation it's getting to where everything I try to create is sounding the same there is no difference in the progression. I'm currently in a standstill right now because I realize that I need some kind of a music theory tool and I heard about WA productions insta composer and was wondering if you recommend insta composer for someone like me? I want something that will give me different chord progressions or provide different ideas of different progressions in different key signatures. Scalar 2 does not give you different chord progressions it's just all repeat the same eight.

Anything scaler plays you can record to a track in your daw then edit it if you want right in your DAW. Also when you do these videos you should start with a blank canvas so we can see where the notes came from and also play the different examples more as you go along. Just a suggestion

They should have got you to do the promotion videos. You've shown just how useful this is. I thought it might have been a nice but slightly B grade edition to my tools, turns out could be one of the most useful.

Thanks for the nice presentation. I’ve been experimenting with instaComposer for a week now with great, fun results. In your description at 2:38, you said that it generates up to 32 “bars or measures” of midi. I think you meant to say 32 *beats*, which translates to 8 bars in 4/4 time. Still, this is pretty good, as I can repeatedly drag and drop variations into my DAW to produce the basis of an entire song in just minutes. My only quibbles so far: 1) The chord progression selector is based on actual pitch notation (C-F-G7-C) rather than by relative intervals (I-IV-V7-I), 2) No “Undo” button, and 3) I had to watch an entire Drum Monkey commercial before watching your post. This is a great beginning for a new product, and I’m confident that many enhancements will be coming in future updates.
@41Fingers3 жыл бұрын
great to hear, thx for watching. You make some good points, and your right about the 32 beats.
@billys59653 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the vid! Very informative. So… curious about this. You can only work with 8 bars at a time? You can’t produce an entire song’s worth of routable MIDI performances within InstaComposer? It’s great to have all this complementary MIDI in a single environment routed out to various VSTi’s, but it seems like a real limitation and would be an extremely easy thing to add capacity. Otherwise, it’s essentially a multitrack sequencer that loops. MIDI data is so minuscule, should be able to have unlimited bars it seems. Would be a game changer for the way I work.
@41Fingers3 жыл бұрын
@@billys5965 I agreed I would like to see them update it in the future to 32 bars or more. thx for watching Billy.

thanks for a great review/tutorial do you know if you can output the different channels from the InstaComposer to different tracks in Cubase?
@41Fingers3 жыл бұрын
Hi Morten, Instacomposers 5 tracks can each be assigned to a different midi channel, but will the output be split into 5 vst instruments I will have to test that idea out.

can it generate variants from an existing song (audio or midi) to create remixes "automatically"; e.g. for live performance during a DJ set?

Hi, I don't think it could do that in a live setup, currently you can only input the chord progression.
