Instagram shadow banning and censoring content is really irritating. Over the summer it was really bad for the pole community. Most pole dancers had their content removed or hidden from searches with no explanation. Most content had the same coverage as a bikini so I don’t know why Instagram feels the need to censor pole dancing. At one point Instagram decided to censor the hashtag “female fitness” because of inappropriate content, but if you tagged that same photo in “male fitness” Instagram left it alone. My hope is that projects like taboob will help lift some of the restrictions Instagram has set on the content people are sharing.

I don't understand why the first design for the period emoji was rejected. It wasn't graphic, it was just clip art underwear with a red drop on it! How on earth is that inappropriate in any way?!?!
@lkimberly2064
@lkimberly2064 4 жыл бұрын
It's "slightly suggestive" to the narrow or shallow mind and red drop is what, blood. For many blood is not good to discuss. Why? Look at what blood usually is associated with. Add to that the semi-hyped mania with these random shootings here or there...
@ireallyreallyhategoogle

@@ireallyreallyhategoogle I don't know all of the ins and outs of it but a lot of the decision making from the Uni code consortium is about how universal an emojii is across a lot of countries as the emoji they decide on are international. Now I think that a period emoji is about as universal as it gets. But I imagine that combining it with giving blood tipped it over into being wide appeal enough to be included. I haven't seen the episode, but I don't think having a 12 year old pansexual say "bisexuality is so binary" is unrealistic at all. I think it's fine to have her say that, and then also show that she's wrong when we see the bisexual character being attracted to people outside the binary. He could even argue back at her. Bi and pan teenagers do argue about this stuff.
@tonydimeo1882
@tonydimeo1882 4 жыл бұрын
SomeoneBeginingWithI I agree with you because people don’t realize the nuance there. I don’t understand why we have the terms bisexual and pansexual if they mean the same thing.
@SomeoneBeginingWithI
@SomeoneBeginingWithI 4 жыл бұрын
@@tonydimeo1882 The meanings overlap a lot and some people use them interchangeably but there are subtle differences. Some people say their attraction to masculine people feels different from their attraction to feminine people, so for them bisexual feels more accurate for them. Other people say that for them attraction is "regardless of gender" so pansexual feels more accurate to that experience. Other people just use bisexual because it's a more commonly understood word. "I don't understand why we have [these two words] if they mean the same thing" is kind of an odd thing to say in English because we have so many words with similar or largely overlapping meanings. Look in a thesaurus! Should we only have one word from each list synonyms? Words having similar but subtly different meanings is part of how language works, there's no need to eliminate that.

Honestly the people I see defining pansexuality the way that character did are like, 13 year old cis kid who haven't actually met a nonbinary person so I thought it was lampooning that and how ridiculous the bi/pan discourse gets but I guess I gave them too much credit 😂 I'm a nonbinary bisexual and like, when pansexual people attempt to cisplain to me that actually my sexuality is pan and calling it bi is transphobic and enbyphobic I just get so fucking tired, I think the reason everybody got so annoyed at bigmouth is just cause this thing that's usually yelled at us by strangers on the internet got amplified and we were all just sick of it
@SomeoneBeginingWithI
@SomeoneBeginingWithI 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it's pretty realistic to have bi and pan 12 year olds arguing about the label definitions. They could have shown that argument and then also shown that the pan girl is wrong when we see the bi character being attracted to someone non-binary. (I haven't seen the episode so I can't judge how well they actually handled it)
@darciaglaucerica
@darciaglaucerica 4 жыл бұрын
I also interpreted that way! Is wrong but that is told from the perspective of a 12 year old! Labels are confusing and hard, specially at that age when you might still be questioning your own sexuality. I personally label myself as bi because it's easier but I'm also fine with pan and queer because my attraction doesn't limit to cis men and women! Everyone is different and deserves the respect over how they choose to identify themselves.

From the Bisexual Manifesto, written in 1990: "Bisexuality is a whole, fluid identity. Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or duogamous in nature: that we have “two” sides or that we must be involved simultaneously with both genders to be fulfilled human beings. In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders." Bisexuality has always included trans and nb people, and much like OCTOber being the 10th month and not the 8th, you can be attracted to more than 'male' and 'female' and still identify as bi. I'm bi and my personal definition is as follows: I'm attracted to people who are like my gender, and also people who are not like my gender. I suppose that could somewhat match the definition of pansexuality (which is an absolutely valid identity! I personally deeply resonate with the term 'bi'), I just hate how bisexuality is sometimes viewed as always following the strictures of the gender binary while pan is seen as the hella woke version.

I've always considered bisexual to be trans and nonbinary inclusive anyway. Pan has always been a little redundant, we shouldn't need a special term to include trans and nonbinary people. Glad to see you cover this!
@lwaves
@lwaves 4 жыл бұрын
It's not an area I'm a part of, so my knowledge is lacking but from an outsiders perspective it has always seemed like a number of the terms used these days are mostly redundant. It seems like all these groups are looking to be inclusive (which is fantastic) but then given themselves a definition that separates them. Maybe there's a core reason why that I don't know about but it seems at odds from this outside perspective Trans is always one that comes to mind. That used to mean transvestite and now it seems to have been adopted by transgenders or transexuals. So what has happened to transvestites and that term? Not meaning to put this on you, just putting it out there in the hope of some perspective. :-)
@BritishTeaLover
@BritishTeaLover 4 жыл бұрын
@@lwaves transvestite is someone (often a cis/non transgender person) who dresses up as the opposite sex for fun, usually on a night out. The 'trans' part is only there to denote that they're effectively dressing differently/presenting different to who they really are. It's never really been a term used for transgender people to my knowledge, at least not in the UK, just for people who enjoy dressing as the opposite sex. Similar to drag. Transgender people might have used it as a way to express themselves before being openly trans was acceptable, but the two have always been different. Transsexual is quite an old term now, and has fallen out of favour as transgender is a bit more inclusive, as it doesn't imply that the person has had sexual reassignment surgery. Trans people might not want surgery or HRT as they might not like the side effects. It's seen today the same way calling a black person 'coloured' is, it might have been normal a while ago, but it's not considered particularly polite/accurate today. Transgender (or just trans) is what's used today as phrasing has evolved to be more inclusive, and without the sexual connotations that transsexual has, as it's about the persons gender identity, not sex or sexuality.
@lwaves
@lwaves 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info and I'm talking from a UK perspective, or at least my own UK based perspective. I didn't know transsexual was an older, unused term so cheers for that. Yes, I know what a transvestite is but I may not have made my point clearly enough. I'm not trying to say that transvestite also used to mean transgender. I'm specifically referring to the term 'trans' and how it used to mean transvestite but now means transgender. That's fine but what term do transvestites use now that 'trans' has been adopted elsewhere? As you say, transvestites are different to transgenders, so what term do transvestities use nowadays? From an outside perspective it seems like the term has been taken (I use that word very loosely) from them and now it doesn't apply to them. Unless I'm missing something and the term 'trans' was always derogatory slang for transvestites or something like that. I am going back quite a few years (decades). The whole thing has been mulling in my brainpan for a little while as I used to know a great transvestite guy. I figured this might be a good place to ask, based off your comment. :-)
@BritishTeaLover
@BritishTeaLover 4 жыл бұрын
@@lwaves ah, I get what you mean. Sorry about that, I misinterpreted what you said. Transvestites either still use transvestite (full word rather than abreviating it), or call it drag instead. There's differences between drag and transvestite, but they're close enough that there's a chunk of overlap in the terms used. I'm not 100% on which is the best term, it would depend on why someone is doing it I think. It's also 'trans' or 'transgender' rather than 'transgenders'. The s on the end of transgender isn't normally used. Nothing wrong with it, it just looks odd in the same way older folk might say 'the internets' rather than 'the internet'. I just wanted to point it out since we were on the topic of terminology.

A good findom (and how it mostly was until the internet made random people go 'sweet, free money') should help the client look after their money (in a finance style) and certainly only take as much money the client can afford e.g. even if the client is saying 'take this much', it's the doms' responsibility to not take as much as offered if they know the client can't afford it

It’s also a problem that pan and bi people, fictional or otherwise, consider binary trans people to be a third gender instead of men or women with an adjective in front (trans man or trans woman). Not only is it invalidating, but it low key implies that all binary trans people look and behave the same way. Thank you for clarifying your own attraction, I’ve never heard someone describe it that way, and it’s important for people to know they don’t need to shift their label to be attracted to a gender considered atypical.

It's the suggestions implied. Sex sells is one thing- profit, but say you have a media crew where nudity has happened they blur out the image. Similar to playboy in one way, the covers are suggestive but do they ever show *the ("naughty") parts* that show a womans's breasts but also that is considered sexual [the breast with the nipple exposed]? No.

In the UK people with a penis are not able to donate blood if they have had sex with someone else with a penis in the past 6 months. Admittedly this is better than not accepting it at all, but there are many people in longterm relationships who are prevented from donating blood because of this. And a good findom will check with potential customers about their financial situation before accepting money from them (as you say it can become addictive and a good findom doesn't want to put someone in debt for their fetish). Of course, this only works if the customer is honest about their situation.

An Italian sex expert skilled in pelvic floor rehabilitation, Violeta Benini, is active on Instagram and often her posts get obscured.. One post in particular was a DRAWING of a female pelvic floor: there wasn't any sexual organ at all! And she also posted a drawing of a male pelvic floor, and it didn't get obscured! WTF Instagram?!

As for recommendations, there is a sex podcast I have been watching for a while now. Granted, my socially awkward nerdy ass isn't exactly an expert on sex, so you can be the judge of how good you think it is. It's called Was That Good For You, from Raya Carmona, she used to do KZbin, then she worked at Playboy, and now she started her own podcast about something that she is passionate about. She brings on different guests every episode and they cover a wide variety of sex related topics.

I hope I can get the diagnosis endometriosis. I am on my period again, and its crap. I would say it feels like someone have put their hand insidee and is squeezing hard on everything they can get a hold of, bowls, bladder, uterus. Squeeze hard, twisting and pulling outward. I have never experienced that but I imagine that what I am feeling right now is how it would feel. The korona situation is also shutting down all surgeries that is «non essential», like a exploratory laperotomy 🥺🥺🥺😤😤😤 I know people are dying right now. I know people are in the hospital really sick. But when you are in pain you really just wish it would end. And it wont end before I have the lap. I am tired right now having a rant 😅 sorry. I really hate my period. The only positive side, I used «the pill» for 12-13 years, and my 2 natural periods have been much lighter than before I went on the pill. I know it can progressivly get worse with every period I have off the pill, but that is the one positive right now. Focus on the positive, remember to breath, and hugh my Electric heating pillow!

If you're taking instragram recommendations, might I suggest the account caratrancada_ It's from a portuguese illustrator that does illustrations about sex and she is all about breaking taboos about female sexuality! Unfortunately she has to censor a lot of her drawings and she has had many posts taken down (most of my favourites are not available anymore), but I still think it's worth it to check out her account! Love your videos and have learned so much from your channel! Here in Portugal there aren't many public figures that talk about this issues and the sex ed I had in school was almost non-existent (although that is changing for younger generations), so your channel has been an amazing education and has made me feel much more confortable with talking about my body! Lots of love from Portugal!

I have ALOT to say about this video. I suffer with endometriosis, I have written to all of my constituency candidates regarding the issue of unfair treatment of women with endometriosis, particularly in the area in which I live (we have no endometriosis specialists). I'm intrigued as to why you would push your political opinion on your viewers? And why you would tell us to not vote conservative or Brexit party? Not coming for you, just interested to hear your opinion. xx

Yes I love big mouth. The only other criticism I have for them is their portrayal of boys who are gay as catty gossips who are well dressed and friends w only girls. That’s not great, but I think it’s wonderful to see a show be so raw about the gross parts of being human and growing up. It’s accessible for all ages and genders and has a platform to teach people things they need to know in an entertaining way that doesn’t feel like it’s a lesson. I appreciate them reacting so well to critique and committing to doing better. Ali Wong played the pan character w the same name. it was basically just like she was on the show as herself lol

I feel like the Big Mouth interpretations is how you you define it. For me their definition is close but not really, as a bi girl, I like men and feminine girls but that includes trans for both, but not sure about non-binary as I've never met a non-binary person that I've been attracted to, as most non-binary people I've met have been 3 years younger than me. For me Pan has always been about the person rather than their gender.

I wonder, does instagram ban ALL boobs, or only "female" boobs? Wouldn't be surprised if it's the last, because for some reason people still fail to see how extremely sexist it is to allow topless men, but not topless women.

I feel like "bisexual" is binary, but in a different way; as in...bisexual means attraction to men/women/enby people, whilst pansexual is an attraction to all genders. The attraction to a gender can include transgender people, however pan is anything and everything. So while the meanings are close, bisexual _is_ more binary What do you think though?
