Great tutorial skipping the part where you fixed the angle. Pro tip to people doing this, check with a level every few smacks and correct as you go, it's waaaaay easier to put it in straight the first time rather than trying to pry a 3+ foot metal bar through settled soil. And that's presuming you don't have rocks to deal with.

Thanks. You saved me the money to buy one of these. Looked good on paper, but, holy crap....
@fuzzythoughts8020 Жыл бұрын
@@ronjones4069 most of the time these gadgets aren't worth it, and it often just takes a bit of experience to see why. If you want to straighten out a crooked post, you either gotta cut the ground above the bottom, or cut underground using the post depending where the leverage ends up catching (you can never be sure). Unless the ground is soft, doing that is a massive pain in the ass, so you want your posts to go in as close to level on both axis as you can. I've pounded many stakes, pegs, and posts into ground and there's really no cheat code for it other than doing it smart.

@waltermontoya8212 Жыл бұрын
Like the first comment said, make sure you didn't hit any utility lines near that sidewalk like water or electric or Fiber Optic for that matter. The only drawback to this method is that at a later time if you need me to remove this metal Spike you would almost have to use those for the cherry picker or tow truck to pull straight up out of the ground. The advantage concrete is that you drill a 10 inch diameter Hole 2 ft deep and put that amount of concrete of 80 lb bag in there as long as the ground around the concrete is pretty strong then when the next car hits that mailbox it'll tear the front bumper off that vehicle if it's a passenger car that is
