Hej! You showed on a googl search. Your vid is crazy clear! I'm going nuts trying to find oil pressure SENSOR; 3 wire, 3+" long; needed to buy $20 extra long 1•1/16 socket. Problem is in '92 Pacearrow MH, 454 TBI, that stops running in mid street, but only when it's hot outside. (That cost $1700 to get out of Police Impound.) I thot maybe fuel pump, in tank, but no one in entire San Fernando Valley, CA, will change it + it seems to make sound. As another commenter said, the sensor may cut fuel pump as "safety" feature. (So damn many electronics that can screw up running + the ECU.)(Never run anything newer than 1970.) I've changed all topside sensors, including O`2. Oil pressure pegs, so maybe Sensor. At age 83 can't crawl under anymore (esp on street). Maybe Jiffy Lube will be kind enuf to wrench it, if easy to get to. (They're the only place with a pit anymore.) Also do you know where is the Fuel Pump Switch? (I used to have '70 El Cam 454, factory 450hp, w Al heads, sorry to have sold; cars better than Stock Ex. + I had other muscle cars; do you need couple of 3 barrels?) NOTE: •Never use GASKET SEALER on threads. I use Cu loaded thread sealer on spark plugs & Milspec SS sealer on oil/water/fuel. NPT are tapered to seal themselves, maybe. Your headers are probably ALUMINA sprayed, not made from Al. •You could unthread front plug with Blaster spray +Time +3ft Breaker bar. • It's not an oil pressure REGULATOR, but a sensor. (ALL >OLDer = < WORDer.)🙄

Hey does that oil send system have something to do with the in tank fuel pump? I heard there's an oil pressure switch, it's like a safety that if the oil pressure stops it stops the fuel pump in the tank so if you crash, you know, it's not just spraying fuel every where. Is that true? I just changed the motor mounted fuel pump on my gen v 454 on my RV and I'm still not getting any fuel from the tank.. I'm just trying to slowly figure out where the problem is, desperately hoping it's not the tank fuel pump. I hope it's just something else. Anyway, yea, so is this oil sending unit tied in to that at all?
@OldGuyzGarage3 жыл бұрын
Mine is not. But I suppose a newer application could be linked for safety!

Wrong location as that spot won't give you a true oil pressure. The appropriate spot is on the back drivers side of the block
