LED bulbs have come a long way now. The LEDs are placed strategically similar to the light source on an incandescent bulb therefore the light output is very close to the original design. They don't put out scattered light and the modulator's we carry are compliant with FMV codes. Aiming your headlight is very important after installing the new LEDs. A good rule of thumb is to aim the lights at the license plate of a vehicle in front of you. Using your headlight adjuster to dial down the light is recommended as to not blind oncoming traffic.

The white material on the threads for the heat sink is thermal paste. I installed 2 sets of these in my 2017 GL1800 tonight, they sure are bright!

Cruiseman, you're the best! I enlisted my wife (smaller hands) to help me install the low and high beam LED headlights as well as the Pathfinder LED fog-driving-signal lights. Your instructions were very clear and video showed exactly what needed to be done. A minor deviation for my 2015 wing is that there are recesses on the lateral walls of the fairing where the low beam LED drivers and cords fit nicely. I secured them in there with cable ties. Many thanks!

It really helps to have small hands, and even then, it is a pain. After you have done it a few times, it actually gets easier. But, I still get cuts on my hands every time.
@roygosse67626 жыл бұрын
Just finished putting in the LEDs high beams and low beams the job was little tricky. I found the high beams were easier to do then the low beams. Simply because the cords that you need to plug in are closer to you than the low beams, because the low beams are further up front. Just take your time I did both in less than an hour so it went very well and my hands are not that small.

Not for nothing but if you use the kit from EC you do not have to cut the boot. When I installed I did not remove the cable from the foot warmer, just the screw and pushed it aside. Thanks for another great video.

Hey Cruiserman, just a question. The picture of the LED kit appears to show the H4 plug with three prongs yet you were able to connect that connector to the H4 connector that went to the original bulb. So does the H4 male plug coming out of the kit have 2 or 3 prongs? This is for an installation on a 2005 GL1800. Thanks
@SoCalMotoGear5 жыл бұрын
The H4 plug on the LED lights will plug into the stock factory H4 female plug. The mail plug coming out of the lights are 3 prongs. The factory honda plug is a 3 female connection. Honda used an adapter with only 2 prongs for their bulb. This kit will fit perfectly and it's plug n play.

@@ffblack1 This might be a question for SoCalMotoGear support. I have never heard of that one. I would probably try replacing them with the stock bulbs and see if everything goes back to normal. If it does, perhaps there is one of the bulbs that has some sort of an issue causing this.

I had these PathFinder LED's installed on our 2010 Honda Goldwing at a dealership. About a month ago we finally got to go for a night ride and our low beams are shining way too far out front and that is with our headlight adjuster for our Goldwing set on low. Is there any other way that we can lower the beams for the low beam as this isn't safe riding like this with that big black spot out in front of the bike. Also we are constantly getting flashed by oncoming traffic that our low beam light is too high.
@MrFirey664 жыл бұрын
There is an adjuster under the headlight to lower or raise the light

I have a question that does not pertain to lights. I hope you don’t mind. If so just disregard. I was attempting to change out my center stand for a ride on-drive off one. The 8mm bolt on the left side seems to be stuck. I have a long hex with a socket end on it. I am afraid that if I continue to force it or use a cheater bar I will break my hex. I changed out one on my 06 when I had it but this one seems to have red lock tite in stead of blue. I attempted my air ratchet on a smaller compressor and no luck. Any suggestions. I have some short hex w/ sock but they are sae. Don’t know if an 8mm will convert to the same size in sae? Help Richard Bastrop Tx
@cruisemansgarage6 жыл бұрын
If it is red loctite, you must apply heat to loosen the loctite. try a heat gun, or a small torch on the head of the bolt, but be careful.

It's because halogen headlights are designed to reflect from a critically specific light source which replacement leds ulbs can't replicate. Function over form. Here in the UK it's illegal to install leds in a halogen headlight and it'll fail the annual inspection test (MOT). Invariably it also blinds oncoming traffic as well due to the light scatter.
