The biggest problem going this route is you have to wait for it to boot every single time. So instead of that, I just mount a 10.1 inch Samsung tab A. I use two of those very small circular magnetic phone mounts. Two small metal circles stuck on the back of my tablet, just stick the tablet to the mounts and that's it! No need to wait for it to boot!!

The headunit doesn't actually need to boot up every time I start my car (at least not on mine) - it's almost instant actually, unless I disconnect my car battery. Would love to see your setup though, sounds cool!

Hey man, loving it so far and it's been treating me well :) So far no major issue, but just once in a blue moon apps crash (but common just like any android device/phone) but over all works like a charm till this day! Yes I’ve set time zones as well as the actual time in the setting. When CarPlay is running I can actually get the correct time on that screen. Just noticed my front and back cameras are backwards,lol. I’m waiting for a response from flyunice, hopefully everything will pan out. Once again thanks for the fast response

@@In2black i think you got the power connections wrong. I’ve installed a 7” stereo on one of my cars and one of the problems I read before is that you could mix up one of the power wires that’s always on and another that’s supposed to shut off by ignition. The unit doesn’t need to be on all the time, but it does need to have that power connection right to keep the memory of clock settings or whatever else. The fact that your cameras are backwards tells me that’s most likely the case as well. Anyway, that’s my guess

I think getting it from any brand manufacturer of your choice is fine. The reason I went with Carbar (link in description) was I like how their main top navigation bar looks like, that came stock with the headunit that I bought :)

Any car accessory shop should be able to install it. Not all of them will agree to it unless they are familiar with installing other headunits or you actually buy one from them (because they don't guarantee you any warranty) - but if you ask around enough, someone will agree to it. It's a risk but it's pretty much a plug and play. Good luck!

I still have it! So far so good, still loving it and it hasn't given me any problems yet (touchwood!). I've realized it's important to keep your expectations in check when you get a 3rd party android headunit - It's an add-on and it can't possibly be a perfect sync with your car. So as long as I can play my music, youtube, use waze and give a great ambience to the car... I have nothing to complain about :)
