Installing A Bigger Intercooler On the Mini Cooper F56 !

Installing a larger front mount intercooler on the Mini Cooper F56. Hoping to see my temps go down and stay a little lower on the track! I also painted the radiator support to match the roll cage while the front end was apart for the FMIC installation. Thanks for watching!

Hi Juliette, I have 2015 mini cooper s f55, will f56 fit on my f55? Also, where did you get it from? When I check online, I only saw some of it for R56. I already tuned my mini, and if I change it should I re map it?

You install an intercooler, but you also have an open air filter? Feeding hot air to the engine doesn't help...

Tooquic I was looking for cooler temps so yes it’s worth it for my use of the product and the car. It’s a track car

Hi Juliette, random one, once you took the slam panel off the front (the one you said you were going to loosen but then took off at around 2:45 of the video) can you tell me if the bonnet latches sit on top or underneath the mounting parts? I cant quite make it out at 3:42 of the video (top mid-left of the screen) ... Thanks for any help.

Now We Drive I believe they’re underneath if I’m understanding which you’re referring to! They claim you don’t need to remove them but I needed up doing so for convenience

im looking at a similar intercooler to yours on ebay, p&x performance, looks very similar to what you have. have you noticed a difference in performance? also any negative points?

Jim Boctration I’m already tuned so I didn’t notice a HUGE difference in performance I bought it cause I heat soak the car at the track🤷🏻‍♀️ sorry I couldn’t help more 😭

Question is the f56 a lot better then the r53 and why

depends on preference. R53 is more raw, f56 is stiffer, more powerful but you lose some feel

Micho Cox it was for an Rseries and was supposed to fit my F but when it came the angles weren’t correct so it had to be refabbed

This is just a lot of fluff. She does not tell you how the hoses disconnect from the intercooler how to remove the intercooler how to remove the air ducts that are blocking the inner cooler so if you want an in-depth look on how the inner cooler comes out this is not it.

This is not a tutorial hence why it’s not titled : “How to install a bigger front mount intercooler on your F56” 😂 I’m not a mechanic simply a girl that makes videos messing with her car. I’m sure there is plenty of “how to” style videos out there by insured and licensed mechanics👌
