I dunno man, all his videos shows he's cutting the ferrule when removing an old tip.

@@Tanfo77you always have to face off the ferrule, if it is not totally clean and level the tip will fail. The only time you do not have to is if there is an existing shock pad but it even needs faced. Tip installation 101

Looks great. When I do mine I like to hit the ferrule and clear tips or pads with Flitz as a final polish after sanding up to 3K. Comes out like glass.

Those are micromesh wet sanding pads. It just gives it a higher polish.
