Another fantastic video. Especially useful to me was the walkthrough of formatting the drives. Always thorough.

Good summation. Only thing I'd recommend is to advise people to get a second thermal pad (not unlike the one that's on the WD drive that came with the laptop) and center it over the *controller* chip, not the NAND. That's what they did there - the NAND is designed to get hot - the controller chip can benefit from extra cooling, which in this case is provided by letting the controller chip dissipate heat by contacting the metal EMF shield using the thermal pad as a thermal interface material.

How did you get the case off. I am able to get the front and sides open, but am stuck trying to get the back unhinged.

What is your impression of this laptop after 1 year do you recommend this laptop, or it's better to pay a little bit more and get another brand?

A little late to the game but I actually screwed the bracket into the screws on the side of the hard drive first and then put it down into the space for it.

Hey I was wondering if you know if the Powerspec 1520 laptop can be upgradable

I am not familiar with the guts of that one. You'll have to get in touch with Micro Center for guidance on that.

Thanks for the video ... exactly what I was looking for (this one and the other Powerspec one) .... and the only video of its kind of the web ... I want to get the Powerspec or a similar Clevo but my only hesitation is the screen ... After a couple months of use, do you think the screen at max brightness isn't bright enough ... is it too matte? ....also do you mind telling us what screwdriver you used if you remember where you bought it? I never have luck with laptop screwdrivers...looking for a good one

I have only used the screen at its LOWEST brightness and that has been perfect for me. But that was all indoors, not in bright sunlight. The screwdriver I used was the Husky HD-74501 V which appears to be unavailable. I've had it for years. This one appears to be the closest Husky replacement: amzn.to/2YpWyRE but I would actually encourage you to get a magnetic set. This one looks nice, with lots of great reviews: amzn.to/2YuBYDx Working with all the small screws, having a magnetic screwdriver will help prevent losing the very small screws when you extract them, plus make it easier to place the screw on the end of the screwdriver and easily insert the screw right in the hole and start driving it in (again, without dropping it).

Hmm. I bought this laptop yesterday and installed an additional NVME but it is not recognized or showing up anywhere. BIOS, Windows, nothing. Is your new M.2 drive a SATA model or NVME? I am thinking maybe the additional drive needs to be SATA to work, but I could be wrong. This drive worked in my old laptop, and tests good in other computers so I know it hasn't failed.

I installed an NVMe drive, not a SATA drive. It was the Samsung 970 EVO Plus.
