When I was 18 and in Vietnam, I drove several vehicles. A jeep, 1/4 ton Truck and a 2 1/2 ton truck. When I came home, I drove a 1964 2 door Mercury Comet. Congrats to Jack. Cheers.

Opel kadett. Orange. Rusted on top of the wings. So when it rained the rain water used to get propelled up by the wheels. Like a little fountain. Isurance was £120/year. I also remember being able to sit in the back of pickup trucks. No seatbelt andholding on for dear life around corners

Congratulations Jack. I had a 1964 Corvair. Had to put sand bags in the boot which was the front of the car so it didn’t lift up and spin you around on two tires. Happened to me once merging into traffic. Lucky it was late and not too many cars about. When it landed.. I started it up turned it in the right direction and drove home. 😅

When i was 18 i had beige coloured vauxhall chevette, it cost about £350 to insure. I'm 52 now and drive a vauxhall zafira which costs £480 to insure fully comprehensive, insurance is just a rip off these days. Drive carefully jack and watch out for idiots as there's plenty out on the roads 👍 Good job on the driveway, it will be another monster drive when finished 👍

The new paint reacted with primer😱 Instead of being a smooth finish, it looked like it was covered in ‘goosebumps’ when it was completed🤦‍♂️

1970 Mk III Spitfire. Couldn't afford a new soft top, so very challenging when it rained. Took the occasional lady out and prayed she wouldn't get drenched.

My first car was a mark four Ford Cortina in Daytona yellow a Black vinyl roof and then I sold that and got me myself at 1275GT mini my God that was a little go-kart 😊on wheels, the content of the video boys spot on as always 😊😊😊😊 just loving the new driveway should be great when it’s done

I didn't have a car until I was 20. Grandad's 9 year old 1995 Vauxhall Corsa, 5 door base model 1.5D in faded red. It featured optional extra added at the factory mud flaps but didn't have central locking/electric windows/cigarette lighter/clock/tape player/airbag/power steering/rev counter/adjustable steering wheel/wheel covers(just hub caps)/glovebox (just an open shelf). It had a speed warning device; if you managed to get it to 80, which obviously only ever happened on a private road, the steering wheel vibrated rather a lot! When the door mirrors got vandalised, I could buy the entire assembly new off eBay for less than £30. Best feature was ability to get 60mpg. Nowadays I run a LWB 170ps auto Trafic and I'm happy to get 30mpg

First car was a Mk ii 1980 ford escort popular plus in sienna beige (resprayed….not by me)…..ex Manchester feds vehicle….even had the holes in dashboard where the old radios went. Bought some white wheels from Argos to make it look faster than it was.👍🏽

In the military I drove jeeps, M792 Gamma Goat ambulance, Ford ambulances, Chevy Blazers, and 2 1/2 ton trucks known as deuce and a half. I also tooled around in helicopters, and armoured vehicles. Privately I drove eifhsr a 69 Beetle or an AMC Hornet. I put up a lot of mileage. My first new car was a Dodge Daytona harchback with a 2 litre engine, circa 1987. All classic cars now if they survived.

Hello chaps, my first car was a Mini Clubman Estate, it had sliding back windows with thick moss and vegetation growing out of them. It had a hole in the drivers side footwell that let the water in when you drove through puddles, but it was okay I had a rubber mat that solved it ha ha! Love the new drive job, always wanted to live with fields around me, looks as though that one is on a busy road though, look forward to watching this job. B.......y pigeons, hate them. First car was 1967 Hillman Imp ex demo for a Harnell conversion taking it from 875cc to 998cc & very quick, black with gold stripe always a problem so got rid.& roof, only problem was it went thro' gearboxes

My first car was a 1972 Austin 1100. It wasn’t in good shape and was the nastiest mustard colour. We worked hard on it and I had it re sprayed pillar box red and thought it looked great. Couldn’t understand why everyone thought it was hilarious until I found out about the Faulty towers clip where John Cleese had the same car 😝

Hi Stevie, Dave and D & J crew, the first car i drove after passing my test at 17½ was a 2L Ford Cortina estate, my first personal car was a Renault 14 GTL, I've had a few since, but just ordered my new car for collection in September (74 plate) a Nissan X-Trail. Was Chelsea and Ant in the Really Large Corps (they'll know what I'm talking about) if so do they attend an Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club near them, the team really are smashing out the driveways, keep up the great work. As an 18 year old i had a MKII Ford Escort, followed in later years by MKII Ford Escort, Austin Montego, Vauxhall Cavalier, Valkswagon Polo, Citroen Picasso, Vauxhall Safira and now a Nissan Quashqai I crashed both Escorts (no fault of my own) so won't touch a Ford again Keep up the good work everyone

My dad loaned me his car until I could get a better one. It was a 53 Packard. Gun metal grey. Looked like a tank and the windshield wipers only worked when you stepped on the gas. Looking forward to the tarmac job!

Jacks doing well 👍 nice car but ouch that insurance, I feel for youngsters today that want to drive. My first car was a white MK3 cortina P registration where the year identifier was at the end JKP XXXP. Both wings full of rust just unbolted them and put two grey ones on from a scrapyard 😁 never did bother painting them with a rattle can. Guys when doing a driveways why don’t you ask the customers if they want spare ducts put underground for Mr Brandon’s self burying cable in case it goes faulty or ducts to the front gates for electric gates / cctv access etc ? Having a duct in place that could be utilised in the future would save disturbance to the driveway / landscaping in the future. Great content, great team and great work.

I had a Renault 4 on a w reg way back in 1991 it was a heap but I worked. My favourite car I've owned was a Volvo 480es I got that when I was 24ish and had it for 4 years...I miss it now in a Mazda cx5.
