Thank you so much. I just purchased an old Consew 226 and have this exact problem. Just ordered the part to replace. If I could give ten thumbs up, I would :)

Excellent video, I tried to change to Adler 269 now and I found that this part was not in my machine at all, thank you very much, it helped me a lot

Most excellent! Some notes: I zip tied together the spring, tension release slide and tension bracket and then cut once I had in position. I also found it necessary to remove the lifting rock shaft link in back in order to get the lifting bell crank back into place(the one that goes onto the three bushings or links simultaneously.

Excellent video. I will have no qualms about this repair now. I appreciate the temporary mistakes you include in your videos. The "mistakes" are just as important so I do not have to make them. I would assume that a Singer 211G155 will be another machine which might need this repair. Thank you for your time, effort and expertise in these videos. Mark.

Alexander Dyer great video! Just discovered it. Can you tell me (before I take my Consew 206-rbl18 apart (to check this part) ...how much (ie: measurement / mm’s) is the thread tension release stud supposed to come forward when the presser foot is lifted. I am getting some tension release but it seems like ‘not enough’?

Excelente video, Tengo una Pfaff 546 con el eje principal doblado donde va la correa ( por un golpe), alguna recomendación a la hora de desarmar la máquina para enderezar dicho eje?. Gracias

I don’t think my part is broken but when i lift the foot the pin pushes minimally. Also, i am wondering if the foot lever and linkage are supposed to be moving up and down while the machine is operating. Thanks,

This video came from heaven to me.I do have to replace this guide on my JUKI 562. My problem is where do I find this part on line. Can you please give a clue if you have one? Thanks so much for this wonderful video.

Just type the part number B1461-053-0A0 into a search engine and you'll likely be presented with a few options to buy the part, depending on where on the planet you live. I'm pretty sure I ordered mine from ABC Sewing Machine in California (www.abcsewingmachine.com/products/b14610530a0-thread-release-guide-asm) for around $10 plus shipping.If you're in Europe, College Sewing in the U.K. (www.college-sewing.co.uk/store/B1461-053-0A0-THREAD-RELEASE-GUIDE-LU563) is a good option. I recommend using the original Juki part - it's noticeably better quality than the aftermarket replacement parts. You'll be spending an hour or two replacing it, so $10 is a good investment in a quality part.

Nice....thanks.... question ...were can I get those screws for holding the feet on? I change feet all the time and struggle with the slotted small screw..
@UweXY8 жыл бұрын
I sell slotted thumb screws for mounting presser feet on the out presser bar on Juki LU-563 and many other machines. The same screws can also be used for attaching the swing-away cover plate on the left side of the machine head. Check out shop.uwe.net

hi. do you have a video on replacing the take up spring? i just bought a new one and have taken my assembly apart. but, the screw that the spring sits on...or around i should say, will not come off. does this need to come off to get the new spring in place?
@UweXY8 жыл бұрын
That's not a screw, it just looks like one. Study the parts diagram to find out if something is really a screw or not many parts have slots that make it look like a screw, but it's not. It's really a shaft that's held in place by a set screw. Loosen the tiny set screw behind the tension unit at the bottom right. The shaft should pull straight out. Then you can replace the spring, and re-insert the shaft. Tighten the set screw again just enough to hold the shaft a tiny bit. Insert a screw driver in the front slot and turn counter-clock-wise until the spring has the right tension. Then tighten the set screw again. I usually replace the entire tension unit, they're cheap at around $15 even for an original Juki one.

Can you figure out the function of the small spring between ''tension release guide'' and ''presser bar lifting bracket'' (its name from consew 225 parts manual)? It's hard to understand.
@cancelik6 жыл бұрын
ok, I thought and found it I think. It is for preventing pressing foot lifter (doesnt matter it is knee lifter or foot pedal) move up and down. preventing vibrations and noise.

What if the part isn’t broken but the bar doesn’t move forward enough to release the thread tension?
@danielostrowski11485 жыл бұрын
Check and see if you have a tension release plunger in the tension stud of the tension assembly. It's a tiny little "T" shaped thing that is enough to mess this up. Link is for one for a consew 206rb southstarsupply.com/product/26-tension-release-plunger-10686-10793/

Thanks Uwe, another great video. Wow, had to get in there a kinda deep. You do an amazing job with clarity and focus .. what kind of camera are you shooting with? Lee in Florida
@UweXY8 жыл бұрын
+Lee Copp This particular video was filmed entirely with my iPhone 6. Lots of light, a tripod, and iPhone focus lock (touch and hold the area on the screen you want to stay in focus) are the main tools I employ to get the clarity I'm after when making these videos. In other videos I had also used a Canon 70D with a 100mm macro lens to get REALLY close to something.

Is this the same way for a singer 111W153?
@UweXY5 жыл бұрын
The Singer 111W153 appears to have nearly identical mechanical bits inside the head. You should be able to follow the same basic procedure.
