Installing a Water Saving Dual Flush Toilet Conversion Kit

In this video I install the Everbilt water saving dual flush toilet conversion kit. This conversion kit fits any toilet with a standard 2" flush valve (that means most toilets!) and saves a lot of water.

My flush valve is too big for the 2 in 1 kit do I need to get a different one

I think you might have a 3" flush valve.

How do you remove the flush valve, just pull it out? It seated well and I pulled up on it and it was in there pretty tight. I didn't want to break it. I'm thinking about the next time it needs replaced. Thanks.

Yeah, just pull the valve out to remove it.

Noticed you had to pull the lever twice to get it to flush around the 2 minute mark. How do you adjust so that is not necessary? Mine only flushes if it’s held in the up position otherwise it closes immediately. The manual says to adjust with no instructions how

There is a white plastic lever that moves up and down to adjust.

Hey question, over a period of time does the rubber gasket in the flush valve tend to allow water to leak out? It doesn't seem to seal correctly after the water fills back up in the tank. Getting frustrated as I hear a lot of dripping noises coming from the toilet after flushing.

I never had that problem. Have uou tried cleaning the gasket and the hole that it fits into?

The gasket started leaking after a year and half of use. I flipped it to the other side and it seems to be working fine for now. If you see bubbles on both sides it's no longer good and you need to replace the gasket.

@@ashwin7187 I don't think they sell replacement gaskets, but a complete replacement kit is about $20.

@@ashwin7187 yep same, after right about 1.5 yr of use the gasket deteriorated and started leaking

Yes, it’s important to save water, but you obviously do NOT do so by waiting to flush a toilet until it’s absolutely full of junk after using that toilet because that just makes things get dirty faster probably by letting germs multiply and spread around! Besides, it’s rude to leave behind a mess of any sort and expect someone else to pick it up!
