Installing a WEN 3410 Air Filtration System

This WEN Air Filtration System is a great addition to my shop. It does a good job at clearing dust out of the air, plus it creates a light cool breeze. I wish I had bought one a long time ago.
Installation is easy - just screw four hooks into the rafters, attach four hooks to the unit, then hang it with the provided chains. Install it near an outlet so you can plug it in, then use the remote to turn it on/off. My favorite features are the low noise and the convenient remote with timer settings that will automatically turn it off after you leave the shop.

I've had this same filter for about 18 months. Works great. Originally hung on chains, but I had to install an opener for my smaller roll-up door that conflicted space-wise. So I built a large ceiling mounted box that's open on two sides, put the filter inside the box, mounted the opener on the bottom, and slung my roll-up extension cord reel on one side and my roll-up air hose reel on the other. Great space saver.

My shop is only 9ft X 19ft and I installed 2 of these (under different brand). They are on opposite sides of the shop pointed in opposite directions to encourage a circular airflow motion. They clear the air very quickly and generate a nice breeze also. That keeps me cool in summer and distributes the heat from my heater in winter. The amount of dust in the filter is impressive

I have 2 in my shop (1 Powertec and the other Wen). They both came from the same factory because the remotes are interchangeable. They do indeed work very well as evidenced from the how dirty the filters get and the air does create a nice circulation, so no complaints there. You're going to love yours.

I have a Shop Fox brand system that is identical to your unit and use it regularly. I have taken the filters out side and used an air compressor to clean them and was surprised how much they had collected. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Steve.

Hi Steve I have this exact model and I have had it for well over a year and it works great. I have a garage shop that is 22x20 give or take and it clears the air quite well in there. I have mine on the right side of,my shop sitting high on a shelf... I done have the height to hang it from the ceiling... And it still works great. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Hi Jeff - I had an old furnace blower motor that I was going to use to make one, but never got around to it. Ended up getting rid of it. This was so much easier, looks nice, and I like the remote and timer features.

I have 2 wen filters and they work great! They are the same as Jet, Rikon, Grizzly, and others but cheaper.

I have the same air cleaner. I didnt realize how well it works until I turned an red stabilized spalted pen. The outside filter turned red from the fine dust from the pen blank.

The Wen is identical to the Shop Fox, Grizzly, Powertec, Jet, and probably others - all the 3-speed 400 CFM max units are probably made in the same factory. The nice part is that when it comes time to replace the inner bag filter you can get whichever filters are cheapest and they should all fit. Last I checked Grizzly.com had the best prices. The outer 5 micron filter can just be blown out with compressed air outside and reused. For what it’s worth I’ve had mine for several years and although I’ve blown out the outer filter a few times, I have not felt the need to replace the inner filter yet.

Are the hooks spaced in a way that they can all be hung from studs, because aren’t studs 16” on center?

The good thing about the chains is that the hooks can really be placed anywhere as long as the 4 chains can reach them. I know wall studs are usually 16" on center. I've seen them 24" on center before. Rafters in the ceiling might be too I guess. I just tap around until it sounds like a stud is there and screw.
