Installing Advanced Chute System on John Deere Ztrak 737

Here we install our second Advanced Chute System on a John Deere Ztrak 737. These chute blockers are a MUST when cutting grass in a commercial setting. A modification is shown as well!

The holes are to allow air to discharge, yet still trap the clippings. The block isn't a mulch kit, but may well work as such. When mowing the blocker is intended to be used when mowing near flower beds, cars etc. so they won't be be struck with objects or grass. You did a good job withe the installation. Get a shorter 1/4" bolt. The long one looks bad. Thank you!

Great install video!! It's amazing how many different installs of these shoot blockers there are. Some over think the install and actually hack up the decks with a cut off wheel and or welding the chute blocker to the deck.. Well done, using the supplied hardware. Thanks! Looking at my new Toro Z 5000 it looks like it will bolt flush to the deck.

The holes are there to relieve air pressure created by movement of the blades under the deck. Wet grass clogs them up much more than dry. A set of Gator mulching blades works best with the blocker, since mulching is its really primary purpose.

If you don’t like the handle replace it with an automatic door lock from a car and put a switch on the drive handle

Just bought this kit and trying to determine what’s more important when I line it up to the deck. Having it flush as possible across the deck opening but it is kind of offset to the opening, or making it sure it goes all the way past the deck on front and back but creates a gap at the top.

Without seeing your situation, I would think a gap at the top of the deck would not be preferred, as grass clippings would surely blow out and upward. Thanks for watching!

I put a Qwikchute Chute Blocker on my Ferris much smipler install, better construction, easily adjusted, easier operation and just looks so much better.

I have a Qwikchute on my Wright and I do like it, and it's ability to be partially locked open. The only issue I had, was the tension spring was too heavy, causing me to bend the actuating mechanism, a little each time I opened it. After stretching the spring a little, it works much easier. On this mower, I preferred the metal construction of the ACS, and much lower price.

They say they will fit any deck that has a flat discharge opening. My concern would be the deck thickness. I'm not sure of the deck thickness on a 535, but I wouldn't install one of these on anything thinner than a 10 gauge, high capacity commercial style deck. I would call the company to be sure.

You should put a metal washer between the nut and the fibre washer.. That fibre washer won't last
