yup, today I'm planning to use the same tool for the first time, I know there is winding and folding but did not know about the cutting feature. It is good to know how to use a tool before using, and reading directions is not a bad thing, sometimes you can criticize the directions for being confusing. youtube is the best thing since sliced bread.

I recently bought a pair of CV boot clip tools. One identical to yours and a different one that pinches a 'square hoop' shaped part of the boot clip. Not realising that they were for different types of boot clip, you've just stopped my head scratching in confusion! Thanks!

Just bought the 8milelake CV joint banding tool from Amazon and I have not had the chance to use it yet so I appreciated your demonstration. I think that the orientation of the clamp to face backwards is actually a good idea (no one else has hinted at that yet). Rebuilding the CV joints on my Honda Element.

Nicely done. I pulled my outer CV acle out too far so had to pop the clamp to get it back in. Tried just a regular hose clamp, but the tightening fitting sticks up too high, and would have destroyed an electrical fitting after one rotation! Glad to find this, very useful.👍

Also, just fyi - suggestion- maybe cut off the corners of the band tabs, or round them off - wont be pointed or sharp

@whynotjusttry5401 Жыл бұрын
If you can rotate it and it’s smooth. If you clean out all the grease and look at it for any issues.

@@whynotjusttry5401 ty, does seem smooth but old grease is slightly silver so thought maybe shavings...

Instead of figuring out which direction your axle is going to turn when installed, you can also bend back the remaining lip to be clamped underneath the 2 tabs, see : kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLHdoCnnJiNmrs
