Good job. However one thing i'd have done is have the gates (the walk in gates) the width of your run, and open in opposite sides, so you can open them up and they block the run leaving a walk through area for you, and you don't have to worry about closing each gate behind you ... until you're done with whatever you need to do in the orchard.

I am 82 year old widow and obviously am done farming :) but I learned so much with these new fences and fitting parts. It used to be HE## to put up fences! Plus...looks great! I agree with your decision to do your own fence instead of having it done! Farming is your business and the more money you can keep through do-it-yourself the more successful you are. (There'll be enough emergencies you have no control over that will cost you.) It is also wise to consider which tools to buy, which to rent. My first thought was to rent the post driver, but when I heard the price I too would have purchased it. You will need it enough in years to come! The double fence is interesting and it should work. You may get a few young ones in there at the beginning but they won't look for food! They will want to get out and won't do it again! Deer are smart. When we figured out their highway through our 20 acres from the forest to the open plains we learned to keep that grassy and open. They never lingered or veered off and we had twice daily the herd going through.....as the farmer's friends and a great side-show. We felt we owed that to them because we also hunted our share for meat. Thank you, I love your always interesting videos.. You are heaven-send in these times of constant tribulations.

I built a chicken moat WAYYY back in the day-around my garden , and it worked beautifully. ( I was inspired by the original article 😉). Now I put a top on mine and the chickens were totally kept safe from predators. It was 40 x 60 feet on the inside and then the second fence was 4 feet from that. I Never had to spray my garden for pests, as even though the chickens were not inside with the plants, the vast majority of of pests didn’t make it across the moat. No deer or rabbits Lots of eggs and the most I had was about 70 chickens. I had to leave it behind back in 2004 but you are inspiring me to explore this again as I retire 😀
