STOP. READ THIS FIRST. I installed the calipers on the wrong sides. Bleeder always goes on top! Not on bottom! Your brakes will not bleed. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGi9mneGbr-bg8U This video explains why. Sorry if I made you do it wrong. My bad.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Any time you are seating lug studs you should use lube on the splines, threads and grease on the washer. Best is to use two washers with grease between them. This way the threads don't get overheated and annealed... or stripped.

If you're here just to learn about the locking hubs the time stamp is 39:07 . When you take out your auto hub and I start taking out the axle nuts, skip to that time stamp. Don't forget to drop a like on the video! 👍

y 87 had the easy to remove and replace manual hubs. Great for eoing break jobs etc.. but after putting gears and lockers (4:56's wirh ratchet lockers front and rear I w as stoked how well it was climbing up steep sand until it stopped. I then noticed something on the sand hill what was it ? My hubs blew up! I have since bought glassfenders I needed for tire clearance for my 35" tires I geared for on my long travel suspention.(wheel travel) I bought them from a gentleman parting out his 96 and bought the glasss fenders, hood ,core support, headlights grill and all to change my front body style doing so. I needed to get new outer axles and went all out bought his 96 spindles chromoly outers the spindles allowed me to bolt my new calapers to them over the pins. I was happy I did when seeing my pass side with a pin almost all the wAY OUT. i SALSO GUSSETED AND PLATTED MY BEAMS AND BEEFED UP THE PLATES TOP AND BOTTOM OF MY RADIUS ARMS AND ADDED A VERTICAL PIECE THAT TIES THEM TOGETHERAND ADS A CONNECTION TO THE BEAM ON BOTH SIDES. i GOT RID OF THE DUAL SHOCKS AND BEEFED UP THE SHOCK MOUNTS WITH A GUSSET AND CHROMLLY TUBE THAT ARCHES UP AND BACK DOWN TH THE FRAme for a taller shock. I went to King Shocks old small shop and ordered new shocks from Brett King. I also GOT a frame to frame reR TOWER FOR TALLER SHOCKS KEPT UNDER AND FORWARD AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID TUBBING IN THE BODY AND KEEPING INTERIOR SPACE BY dONAHOE rACINGtHE NEW rAPTOR i READ HAS 13" FRONT AND 13.9" REAR WHEEL TRAVELON NICE fOX SHOCKSMY 87 FULL SIZE AFTER DOING THIS AND ADDING A f250 PASS SIDE SLIP SHAFT ACLE WITH BIGGER u JOINTS AND CYCLEING AND CLEARING FOR 4X4 OPERATION AND SETTING MY LIMIT STRAPS GETS SEVENTEEN TO EIGHTEENINCHES OF FRONT TRAVEL AND A BIT MORE IN THE REAR ON SOME dEAVER SPRINGS ALL ON kINGS. the Bronco always gives me permagrin soaking up whoops ggoing pretty fastnot spilling my drink of water. and handleing surprises and air smooth and in control! I added bedsides too and fresh power and rebuilt my transfer case with everything. Also had a Monster trans from thr Monsters brother rebuilt by drag racers Art Carrs trans shop. it is my unstopable Burrow Brah and with many hours and parts and some help from FSB members and the sound system bought and installed I LOVE it.

Excellent video. But, one thing I've been unable to find for sure is if you are to re-use the two splined washers and half moon c-clip. Do you disregard those and just use the c-clip from warn?
@Bearbait012 жыл бұрын
Are the two splined washers you're referring to the axle nuts? Because yes you definitely need to re use those. Everything from the outer axle nut, outward is replaced by warn parts, everything inside of the outer axle nut stays factory.

I’ve been shopping for a 5th gen Bronco and I’ve been binge watching Bronco build videos……but damn, where do you live? That’s a shit ton of rust. Reminds me of when I lived in Michigan. 😆👍🏽

Is that outer lock nut you torqued to 150lb from your automatic hubs? I don’t think the manual hub trucks have that.
@Bearbait013 жыл бұрын
I believe it was from the auto hubs. I bought a conversion kit which had 2 lock nuts and a spacer, to go from auto to manual, which I didn't use because the truck already had the nuts.

sORRY BUT A QUESTION i HAVE IS ABOUT THE BIG RING YOU PUT ON AFTER THE HUB AND CLIP ON THE AXLE WITH SNAP RING PLIERSwHat does it do and is it important? Is the groove it goes into on the hub ? or in the cylinder that comes out of the wheel around the hub ?
@Bearbait013 жыл бұрын
It's important. It holds the hub in place. It snaps into the housing. Why did you lose yours? Lol

Shouldn’t the bleeder screw be on top and not the bottom
@Bearbait013 жыл бұрын
Nope not on this year truck. My 96 has it on top but it's a totally different caliper for that year.

my 94 f250 has the shitty guide clips, as well as my 88, both my 96 and 97 had normal slide pins.
@Bearbait013 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a weird setup compared to modern brakes.
@samtucker24873 жыл бұрын
@@Bearbait01 not a fan tho, haha. Had one of the clips on my 94 big block completely shear in half leaving the caliper rubbing on the inside of the rim (luckily that was all that happened). Just did the brekes on my 88 for the second time in 5K. Freaken things wont stop warping
@Bearbait013 жыл бұрын
That sucks. Hopefully, if the bronco ever finds itself in working order I don't have that problem 🤣

Sam Tucker Oh F 250 had slide pins holding Calipers on the spindle? I bought some 96 spindles and calipers that bolt onfrom a 96Bronco building my 87Broncointo long travel prerunner. I used an F250 slip shaft on the pass side axle for its si8ze and big u jointsthough
