Installing Maxon Liftgate C2 2021

Installed liftgate on my 2012 Ford F250 as part of my business service Bottom support plate install steps were not recorded!!!Sorry i ordered fom Pafco Body and Trucks you can chosse what type of liftagte based in your needs and truck type you can save a lot of money if you can do it by yourself,so far its working perfect ,tried to my best taking the video with my phone ,my apologies in adavance,i dont explain during the video but every step was done by the manual,this unit weighs 550 lbs and can hold 1300 pounds ,i move whatever appliance i want or heavy duty compressors,etc never more than 1300 pounds if you have questions put a coment give me some like and suscribe i can show up some day with a very useful video ,i regret that havent posted all the things i have done in the past ,thank guys enjoy it!!

Great video! After a good amount of searching I scored a used Tommy Gate and installed it myself the same method as you. Your video doesn’t show the bottom of the gate being connected/ welded to the frame. If you haven’t done so, I highly recommend it as it will flex on the upper brackets under a heavy-ish load. The small bolts can shear causing a serious accident. On my F250, I had a 2” 1/4” tube welded from the bottom of the lift gate to the top of the trailer receiver hitch. Local weld shop provided the tube and welded it up for $50. Turned out great and I now regularly pick up very heavy loads.

when I had the liftgate installed on the back of my F350 Ford I took the inner screws out of the tail lamps and used Velcro to keep them in place with the outer screws also save me a lot of headaches this is something everyone should think about doing .

2 questions. 1. Did you replace the red plug on the HYD pump with the breather plug? Air needs to be able to get in and out. I have seen the plastic tank on the pump break due to the breath plug not being there. 2. I did not see the mount connection from the lift to the frame of the truck. This is what the plates and angles are for. This is critical! Most of strength of the lift comes from bottom mount. You can destroy your truck bed if you don't have this mount. The truck bed is not design to take the load of the lift by itself.

You got me!!Haha, yes my friend the breather plug comes with your kit and yes I did installed it,second yes those plates are attached at the bottom following manual,I welded them the day after of this video ,unfortunately did not recorded that ,I have to say that was a very great install and the lift it's amazing super strong hold after putting those bottom plates

@@combatvolta Great, I have been installing lifts for a long time and I see people forget them. It gets really ugly, especially after a car accident when they are not there. That lift should give you decades of use

Hi, what side breaker is needed? Also only scews are on the side brakcets? No screw need on the bottoe side bumpper side? Thanks

Hey bro , yes just side bolts because you need to weld two pieces of metal that comes with the kit or you can do it those two pieces at the bottom are welded to the beam that hold the bumper and connects with the bottom of that Liftgate , the circuit breaker it’s a 150 amp if I’m not mistaken??? I’m not sure now bro because I sold the truck (wich I regret immensely!!!)

How do you change the taillight bulbs if need be?

I won't interfere at all with the lights,the lifgate doesn't hold of anything inside the lights

Does it need a separate Battery??? I am going to buy a liftgate today are used one and I was checking out your video

No you just use your own battery,make sure to put a the safety breaker ,normally it comes with it when is new it goes attached to the frame close to the battery
