Thanks as always. Where do I buy the quality locks you are using?

I think we got these at house of antique hardware online. They have a big selection though and I’m not sure how we ended up with these in particular. We’ve gotten some locks that were nothing more than decorations from there before though, but their return policy is pretty good. Kilian hardware online is another great resource actually.

I’m not sure what you are referring to.

@@WoodWindowMakeover there is a spring om each side of the window when you take it out of the opening. spring not attached to bottom of sash makes the window not b able to stay up. just falls down. used to have these small plastic clips that went onto the end of the spring to keep it stretched. they are not made anymore. how do i attach bottom of spring ?

I don’t know if I’m picturing properly what your describing, and I don’t think I am. But if it’s anything like what I’ve seen (and don’t actually work on because of complexities like this) the end spring will have a hole in it that a little post can fit into. I’ve had to install a post (basically a nail with the head cut off) on a sash to catch a spring like that before. But that doesn’t actually sound the same as what you are talking about. I wish I had a better answer for you than that but nothing more helpful has occurred to me yet.

They sell flathead drivers with a collar that fits over the screw head so the driver doesn't slip off and scrape your wood
