We are finally getting to put some new parts onto the FXR project! In this episode, we focus on the swingarm of the bike by installing a set of #Bareknuckleperformance swingarm bearings, rear axle and adjusters, as well as a set of #Bitubo shocks. We also get the transmission, rear fender and wheel in place, and we go over why Scott decided to ditch the 70t stock rear pulley for a smaller 65t one. Be sure to follow along and get ready for an upcoming #Giveaway that the boys have planned for the you all! Again, this will be the perfect build series for someone looking to rebuild their Harley FXR, or any older Harley EVO for that point.
As always, THANK YOU for following along!! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE!! There will be plenty more videos of this bike dropping throughout the next month or two, so def keep an eye out for it!

crackin vid and editing, its so much effort to get a vid to this quality which is why people (myself included) cant be fkd producing to this quality, but love watching it. With your shock observation, you're 100% right, and its probably one of the most important skills when rebuilding bikes like this. Understanding what mechanically is supposed to happen, and checking and measuring to make sure it is happening. On a 100% OEM bike, yeah its probably not a problem, but when swapping shocks, swingarms etc, you want to make sure you understand whats going on mechanically to make sure that the parts your bolting on actually work.

Man, thanks a lot for the kind words! Also that’s our biggest goal with this channel is to hopefully help others think a little outside of the box. There’s a ton of videos out there doing the same things we are, but I hope that some of the info we provide adds insight and thought for someone looking to tackle these same sort of jobs. Rather than just repeating what some the instructions say to do.

Great series! I wish I had something like this when I built my 92. Nice to see you're going for a more OEM look. They look the best when they're built in the spirit of how they're supposed to be. There are enough clapped out ones out there

Thank you!! This bike was def too nice to go and change a bunch of stuff. Reusing many of the parts def reflect how well it’s been treated over the past 32 years

@@Me.MyMachinist.and.l Agreed. You have to honor the fact that someone actually took that good care of it. It ain't easy keeping these bikes that prestine

A little tip I learnt is to put the pivot shaft in the other way, that way when/if you ever need to remove shaft you don’t need to remove the exhaust etc before hand.
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l 8 ай бұрын
Def a good idea, I’m lucky though that my exhaust is a 2-1 that goes just below the pivot bolt. I’m a stock setup, you can def spin it around as well as the rear axle

Good stuff. Thinking about getting some of those. Are those 13.75” or 14”?
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l 2 ай бұрын
I believe they only offer 13.75 for the fxr, 14” are for dyna and from what many have said, are too stiff for a fxr. Fxr and Sportys are interchangeable

What belt did you end up going with since you changed to a 65t rear pulley?
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l
@Me.MyMachinist.and.l 8 ай бұрын
Stock. As long as you aren’t slammed or lowered, a stock 136t belt works. If you’re lowered, the wheel goes further back and may need a shorter belt

...how I'd you get them so clean ? I've cleaned wheels many times and never got them looking that nice. Were they pretty good to begin with ? They look brand new, on camera anyway.
