Looking really nice, can't wait to see the final shots. I have to agree the natural wood finish is gorgeous and would be a real shame to paint it.

Thanks! Glad that you agree! I’ll get some final shots before it’s painted regardless!

Nice vids mate. Be great to get a little more info re how you’re fixing the cladding. Looked like combo of glue and hidden screws … is that the same for starting and end pieces?

Should of run vertical counter battens to allow moisture to travel down the wall, if you run them horizontally and direct fix them the surface behind the cladding doesn't get enough ventilation.

I get what you’re saying, these battens are done following code and the installation instructions

Wow, so the moisture rolling down the wall wrap will come to a stop every 450mm across a section of 45mm? Big deal. Considering you can direct fix pretty much all cladding to studs I’d say you have no idea.

Good video mate. Did you leave expansion gaps between the boards ? From what I’ve learnt recently through error is that the the little step on the tongue that the next board butts into, is a ‘guideline’ and a 1-2mm gap should be left between it and the abutting board to allow for expansion. I’ve seen the boards expand and the face of the grooves edge split off. I’ve installed plenty of shiplap but was unaware of this to recently.

Cladding looks awesome mate well done. Such a shame to cover it over with paint though!
