I just did this on my 03 Suzuki Eiger (W/ plow). Replaced frayed steel cable with synthetic rope. Going to go out on lunch break and stretch the rope - tie off to a tree and put a lil stress on it. Getting ready for a forecasted 12" of forecasted snow Friday thru Saturday. Did you "Pre-stretch" the rope? And do you ever ride Florence County? Great Trails up here.

They recommend changing the fairlead because there's a chance the synthetic line can get caught in between the corners of the rollers, but I haven't changed it out on my ATV and I've never had it happen. I'd thought about changing it just because it would look a bit cleaner I guess. I need to order a couple of stoppers. That is the play for sure.

Ahhh yeah that makes sense. Probably helps keep the stopper from going sideways too. Did you get out riding?

@@SwankyCatProductions no I didn't. The weather was such garbage that I did some other chores. Between that and all the salt on the roads again from the storm Friday, I'll wait a bit for the weather to normalize a little bit now. Hopefully that happens soon, haha.

By the book install. Nice. Just got done with the new ranger winch rope. Gotta say the wireless remote on this one is SUPER NICE!!! I wonder if they make a kit for the sportsman.

@@SwankyCatProductions can you read what winch is on that? If it’s an HD pro they do. Just not sure it is. I don’t think that one even has the quick spool or high and low settings. Seems like it’s free spool and low only in which case I’m not sure it is.

How did you get your winch cover roller plate off? The vertical bolts are hitting my bumper and there is no jiggle room to wiggle it off.

They're just the stock "S" model arms.

The rope will get in the roller and cut it off, been there done that!!! Lol

Alright one step closer to being able to go ride it. That thing weighs a 1000 pounds. If be afraid to go take it out if it didnt have a wench incase it was to get stuck.
