I mean it, it's the best trimmer head I have ever used. This is not a paid promotion, I bought the trimmer head with my own money and no one from any company got me to make this. andicampbell8621. 🤣I was wondering if someone would point that out lol. I have been searching for a better set up than I had, and the one I saw on you tube that really struck me as a good one was the one where you line up the hole right through the head, then feed about 10 feet of line right through, double it over and cut, =20 feet, then ratchet the line on till you have the correct length that you want and you're good to go. However, as easy as this is, and I'm happy with it....the one in your video would be hard to beat. You are basically going from two strings to six strings, which is probably why it lasts so long. I will definitely give this one a try. Thanks

This was an excellant video! I bought one of these at Walmart for my Ryobi, because the bump spindle head was getting to be such a hassle to use. I tried to unpackage it carefully (in case there was a problem with fit or performance) but that was impossible. The included instructions were very poor, so I was about to put everything into a bag and return it. Then I checked KZbin and found your video, and everything simply fell into place. The company that sells these things should award you with a percentage of their sales, because without your easy to follow instrutions they would be dealing with many customer returns. I bought one of these because of your commercial, and the fact that it was too hard to reload the string on my bump-head . This is a miser on the string wearing out. There is a major problem with it. It tends to lay the grass or weeds over, rather than cutting them off. I have to keep going back and forth over the same area to get the job done. That takes twice as long as it does with a bump-feed head! I saw a demo of the Echo Speed Feed Universal 400 head. I bought one__ it works great! It is super easy to reload too! It takes less time to load 20' of string than it does to remove worn strings, then cut and load three pieces of new string for the PivoTrim (It was waste of money)!

I heard that pitch before, it last forever it is fast to change, you can load a thicker gauge on it, blah blah blah. Here is the problem. Once it gets cut back a bit, you have to throw all that line and replace the entire thing. I had one on a new line trimmer (as they love them in South Africa) for pro usage and after 2 weeks I went and got a bump head. I hit some stuff like a stone and I bump and keep going, hit some dog shit, I do not have to be playing with that fix line
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
I understand what you are saying, and if I was using it as much as you for a more pro type head I may feel the same way. For me I can trim the whole house a few times before I have to even change it out. If I was doing 50 houses a day, I might feel different. If I was doing a lot of trimming in a more commercial type fashion, I would probably be looking for something I don't have to mess with very often and maybe a high quality bump head might be it. The bump head that comes on the Ryobi trimmers is not the bump head I would be using though.

@craighellberg43662 жыл бұрын
I purchased this head and really was excited about it. But the reality is the line breaks just as much. Maybe if you have a small yard or area to do that might be fine. But I have a very large yard and the line was breaking all the time. It also did not cut weeds near as good. It’s fine for just grass but anything larger it will not do the job. Also, I found that my ryobi gas weedeater ran significantly different with this head on. It was worse. Slower. Great concept, but for me it just didn’t work. I am going to try the echo 400. I’ve heard good things about it.
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you had issues with it. I don't have a huge yard to trim (1/3 acre) so it's great for me. I do know what you mean about it running slower. The head has more line to sling so it puts more load on the trimmer. I adjusted my trimmer carb to compensate for that but you don't have to. Is this what you mean by the echo 400: amzn.to/37EOvuZ? Let me know how that goes. I would be interested. I hated my Ryobi bump feed, but maybe it was a brand design issue and not a bump feed issue. Good luck.

Tips: Hydrate the line, put it in water for a few hours... (2) be careful around hard objetcs, (3) Do not force the trimmer, you are supposed to cut with the tip of the line not forcing the entire line into the grass you are cutting....

The Echo 400, became the Echo 450, and is now the Echo Speed Feed 500 (2023). Lots of people say it is the best trimmer head on earth, especially as it can handle the heavier gauge lines with ease (.105", .120", .130" and .155").

Will this fit the Atlas trimmer from Harbor Freight? Also, how does it hold up with edging (concrete)? The shaft on the Atlas is quite a bit longer, with maybe an inch of bare metal (no threads) at the base of the bolt. Maybe there are spacers with the PivoTrim? UPDATE: I finally got the PivoTrim installed on my 40v Atlas weed trimmer. WARNING: none of the nuts and bolts that come with the PivoTrim will work on the Atlas 40v (or 80v since it's the same head). I took off everything on the arbor bolt. I bought a 10m x 1.25 nut and 5 10m washers. I put the washers on, slid the PivoTrim on then was frustrated AGAIN. The nut does not fit the hex nut holder that holds the PivoTrim on! So, I removed my side wire cutters and snipped the little brackets (looks like bee hive walls) as much as possible. Then, I used my hammer to hammer the 10m x 1.25 nut down as far as possible. Lastly, I held the arbor bolt in place using a screwdriver and spun the PivoTrim until it tightened. I got it as tight as possible. Now, it works. I've used the trimmer in only my backyard using an entire battery charge! The grass (and weeds) were out of control. I'm waiting to trim the front as the batter charges. I would recommend NOT changing out the Atlas trimmer heads. The PivoTrim works great, but you have to take how much time and effort you're willing to give to this endeavor. Done and happy with the final results, but I think I'd just get a more powerful trimmer in the first place. Good luck.

Sorry, I was away for a few weeks. Glad you got it working and thanks for all the great info. I have never used an Atlas trimmer before. These PivoTrim heads are designed more for gas trimmer head replacements.

I can't guarantee it, but I would think yes. This comes with many adapters to fit most of the trimmers out there.

I personally hate Bumphead trimmer heads. And truly prefer these ones. Lie to do a quick change on the line. Does anyone know if this works with the Dewalt trimmers?
@SeidelRanch8 ай бұрын
If it's the larger normal style trimmer, it should. I think the link I put had a list of all the style trimmers it fits. It will fit most of the standard gas style trimmers.

I see at Amazon they also have a 4 string head as well as the 3 string. I wonder why.
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Not sure. I have not tried the 4 string one. If you get that one, let me know what you think. I think the more strings it has, the more load it will put on your trimmer. If you have a big gas one that may not matter, but if you have a smaller trimmer it may put too much load and make it run slower or eat up battery faster. These are assumptions though.
@doctimw2 жыл бұрын
use a screwdriver sticking out of hole from narrow side. slide nut over rod or screwdriver and as you remove rod or screwdriver the nut lines up perfectly. Takes 4 seconds
@SeidelRanch2 жыл бұрын
Very good tip, thanks. I will try that next time.
@3251941 Жыл бұрын
It seems to me that with the new head you are using 3 times the line to do the cutting than with the old 2 line head - hence the longer time between line replacement.
@SeidelRanch Жыл бұрын
I am sure that is part of it. I think the ability for the lines to pivot helps a lot too.
@3251941 Жыл бұрын
@@SeidelRanch I'm sure you are right about that as well.

DUD, the reason this line lasts so long is that it pivots on the axes. That is the only difference between the feeder head and the pivot head. THE name said it all PERIOD !!!!!!!

anyone had any luck installing these pivotrims on a battery powered trimmer?? i tried and failed with my greenworks 40v
@SeidelRanch Жыл бұрын
This worked on my Ryobi 40v trimmer. I think it's going to to come down to the head that the trimmer uses. Is it an "electric type" auto feed head or a "gas type" bump head. My 40v had a gas type bump head on it.

I like the simplicity of it. You mention that the lines seems to last as long as a spool. Have you compared the PivoTrim to regular .095 line?

Love how you keep calling a nut a bolt lol I also have one of these but it’s got 4 spots for string instead of 3. Sounds pretty cool with 6 or 8 string ends whipping around and yes these pivotrim heads are frickin awesome. Definitely superior to the old crappy and sometimes pain in the ass traditional weed eater head. With 4 foot of string I can do multiple yards and have enough left over for more
