Thank you for making this video. I just got a 2021 and was upset to find out it didn't have the vents like my old one did.
@TheRoadGlideRider3 жыл бұрын
I saw that Harley-Davidson had dropped the vent closures starting with the 2020 model year. I had already pitched a left vent assembly before I traded my 2009. So I was ready to install the vents. I close the vents when the temperature drops into the 50s. I brings some heat from the motor up. Just lubricate the vent mechanisms with silicon spray before you put it together. This will help prevent the vent from locking up. Plus when I installed the vent screens, the number of bugs they caught surprised me. I just hope you enjoy the vent closure.

Thanks for the video. Well done! I didn't even know this was an option. Of course the black screens are out of stock at the moment. So I'll likely order the vent assemblies while they are available then order the screens when they are back in stock.

You should check FleaBay for the screens too. I found mine there at a discount still in the Factory Packaging. And thanks for the comments. 🏍💨🏍💨

I appreciate this video, thanks. I've had the misfortune of watching it several times because of those buttons breaking. I bought my bike used, with one broken. I replaced that one and a month later the other one broke!🤣 A word to the wise: I bought a couple more new ones while I was at it because dealers rarely stock them. 👍🏻

Thanks for the video. Was thinking about getting the vent closures but wasn't sure how hard the install would be. Definitely getting them now that I know it's so easy
@TheRoadGlideRider3 жыл бұрын
As you see, it’s easy. Just make sure to use silicon spray on the mechanisms, and work them to operate easily before assembly. And then every year when you have the faring off, spray lubricant on the mechanism again then sure they work correctly. I have opened and closed my vents as the temperature drops or rise again. It’s really funny, that I can open and close them while riding down the road.

Hi Road Glide Rider I saw your video on installing vents on the 2021 Road Glide and would like to do the same. I went the local H D Dealer and the parts guys said they have never seen on of the vents, we looked it up on the computer and found one listed. The parts guys said it looks like the part comes in two halves and I would Have to buy all the moving parts separately. Do you have the part numbers? (are the right and left side the same part #) Did they come fully assembled? and any other info will be very appreciated. Jim Haas

I just did the same install this week on my 2020 FLTRK. I have only one issue...when you ride with it closed the back side of the flapper is exposed to the bugs and junk, you cant clean them with a screen in front of them. Just sayin! something to think about since the screens are $70 shipped.
@TheRoadGlideRider3 жыл бұрын
The exposed vent closure is why I installed the Klock Werks Vent Screen. I have been riding the last 5 months with them closed. It’s great at catching the bugs. I just sweep the screen. If the inside of the vents ever need cleaning, the Fairing is so easy to remove. And vent is held by only 2 screws once fairing removed, so annual cleanup is easy, if needed.

Are these from Harley? Might have said that.

Thanks for watching. Some don’t like the vent closures, and never use them. I close mine when the temperature dropped below 50*. As a matter of fact, they have been closed for the last month or so. I treated my vent mechanisms with Silicone Spray before installing them. I plan to take the Fairing off every winter to treat them. Ride Safe. 🏍💨🏍💨

There isn’t a “Kit” for the vents. But the part numbers listed (here and in my discretion) are for each side vent assembles. Nothing else is needed to replace the tube in each side. You reuse the screws used with the old tubes. Thanks for watching my video.
