When England replaced him with Curry at 7 and then Underhill the difference was massive. Has been overall quite poor at international level. Some players just never really make the steup up. Leinster have scraped by all season, Lancaster loss, is a disaster, they have lost the ability to score tries, with the slick hive mind, learning the South African rush defence, that was not needed, as Leinster a defence was excellent already. Maybe, Leinster should reconsider their tactics : they should stop turning down penalty kicks when they have quite easy opportunities near the goal line. Maybe that says more about the grinding style played by both sides? On a more serious note, I think rugby is harder than many other sports to reduce to 5 minutes because there are so many important components. For example, a scrum penalty might actually go back to a picture presented to the ref in the scrum prior. A try from a lineout may really reflect intense phase play placing huge pressure on the team in possession, who then kick badly, allowing for the dangerous lineout. It might even be a try that results from burying a key defensive player in several rucks before attacking the space they would usually cover or occupy etc. But there are still better highlights packages than this. Not covering the red card at minimum is a problem. At any rate, I hope your team had a decent season and yours in rugby for next season.

Toulouse is less France than Leinster is Ireland: 6 Foreign internationals with Toulouse, with Akhi playing only for a short time. I doubt that there is a French player better than Willis at his post. But Toulouse coach did a great job preparing for this match. It was so physical that it might cost Toulouse the Top 14 semi-finals.

Titanic game - nothing between these two teams. Dupont is just insane and Kinghorn and Willis were also immense. Thought Leinster were marginally the better team in the second half and their sheer will to win would edge it but Toulouse defence won the day. Rugby was the winner in this Toulouse victory because we are increasingly seeing a growing and unwelcome side to Leinster and Irish rugby that the game could do without. When things don't go their way on 50-50 calls, too many Leinster players feel the need to complain to the ref and try to put pressure on the officials. They were all at it today with every 50-50 call. A rise in Irish rugby fortunes the past years has also been accompanied by a "win at all costs" siege mentality which is unfortunate. The Irish legend Willie John Mcbride openly and fiercely called out the All Blacks on this type of behaviour 15 years ago and Irish rugby players today would do well to heed the big man's comments about the integrity of the game being paramount. The same also goes for a boorish element of the Leinster support who deemed it necessary today to whistle and cat call when Kinghorn and Ramos were taking penalties. Thankfully, rugby was the winner at the end of the game.

I was at the game and the atmosphere was thunderous. Could not hear the people speaking next to me, but unfortunately, that intensity of noise can never be picked up on television - as this clip bears out. More to the point, why were the two disallowed tries of Toulouse not shown in the highlights? Those went to many reviews and in the end only millimetres were at play. Also, the red card should've been shown. Adding another minute to highlights wouldn't have killed anyone.

Not getting over the line is what lost us it today. We were in their 22 god knows how many times mabye 30-35 times and not once did we score until the very end. Tolouse defence was amazing and the stats show it.
