Dear Dad, I have been staring at a bag of Basmati Rice for One week and three days which coincides with the day my Instant Pot arrived. I have been too afraid to try the rice. I have watched many videos but for some reason I felt you had done your homework and weren't just reading the directions. I like that kind of Dad!!! So tonight, after watching your video three times, I am trying the Basmati Rice in my Instant Pot. Thankfully my Instant Pot came with a gift of the red ring just like yours so I feel like I have the best chance possible to make perfect rice. I made a beautiful Pork Loin in my Instant Pot and I am serving Rice with it, also made carrots and Blackeyed Peas. So tonight is my big night to make dinner for the entire family 3 days before Thanksgiving. I will let you know how it turns out

@cardsaremycanvas90653 жыл бұрын
I would suggest you try the method of leaving it on warm. The bottom will get a beautiful crust on it (once that happens it won’t be sticky)and when you dump it out the pot will be spotless. You can skim the crusty part off if you don’t want to fluff it through but it is the most fought over in my house.

This is an easy subscription . I have been struggling with cooking rice in the instapot since I bought it before Christmas. Burn notice after burn notice. I have been forced to cook rice in a regular stove pot. Now I do not have to. Your method has saved the day. I now have perfectly cooked rice. My first attempt found the rice sticky but I think that was down to not washing the ice properly . Thank you for what must have taken ages to get the right formula.

@naginaayub3903 жыл бұрын
My rice was hard 😫
@DadGotThis3 жыл бұрын
6 minutes is short. Timing is super important with these recipes. The times don’t change if you change the amount of rice. It is less about knowing if the natural release is done (you can tell by looking at the little popper, if it’s down all the pressure is gone) and more about the time letting it sit. Also check if your IP has a setting for low or high pressure. If it does make sure you use high.

It didn’t come out as it should. Basmati rice , when done properly, will not stick a single kernel. For that to happen, it needs to be cooked in two steps. First step is boil on stove with lots of water. This will cook it about 75% but kernel will soak water and gets elongated ( there will be lot of water still left). Get rid of All the water to separate 75% cooked rice. Then cook this 75% cooked rice in to pressure cooker / insta pot. Use some ghee and clover while cooking along with rice . I am not cook but this is how my mother cooks and it comes out great every time. Source: I am from India where basmati were first grown. There may be some hybrid versions of basmati available in USA but the real one comes from India.some of the popular brands in USA for Indian basmati rice are Tilda, Royal etc. and no, I am not affiliated with any of the brands

I have followed your directions to the letter and it is cooking right now. I will let you know how mine comes out. I know this may sound silly but I was so nervous cooking in my Instant Pot. I have only prepared 3 meals in it, Chicken Crack was my first meal and it came out so perfect and every one loved it so I made it again for every one because there were zero leftovers. My 3rd meal was a delicious pork loin recipe that came out great. I was supposed to cook rice with the pork loin meal but I had not found your channel yet and I was too scared..hehehehe so I did it the old fashioned way. I will post an update to let you know if I had success or if I need to stay after class for extra lessons 🤣🤣🤣
