Can you offer solution. My IP burns everything and shuts off. I bought a second bowl (thinking I may have ruined my pit) and it burns too. What am I doing wrong

Thank you for the detailed instructions! Me, like many others, have developed a fear of these after watching one particular episode of '1000 ways to die' when the pressure cooker explodes and shoots shrapnel at that one dude. I'm a bit less scared now using this thing lol.

Well done. You have a very calm demeanour which takes the stress out of using it. I had a terrible experience in the early 2000s which made me very nervous. Your video was very calming and detailed. Should I use a wooden spoon or silicone gloves to open the venting? That seems like a good idea, don't you think?

Happy New Year! We have a 8 qt Duo Evo +. Nice! For times when the 8qt is too big i'd like to buy something smaller. The Instant Pot 3qt is a little too small. By the time you fill it to max for pressure cooking it really doesn't leave much room. Zavor makes a 4qt I might look at but their pots are expensive compared to Instant Pot so who knows I might just bite the bullet and wind up with the 3qt Instant Pot after all. No hurry. Thank you, and please keep the videos coming.

I just bought a used duo60 and did your water test to be sure it worked properly. Everything was great and just as you explained, except for the pressure release at the end. I had to take a phone call when it finished. I heard it beep. It showed LO:OO and went to keep warm. It hit Cancel and went to my phone call, maybe 10 minutes longer. Went back and switched to Venting and only a spitter or two of water droplets came out. I slowly released the lid away from me and not much steam came out. Water is hot though! Is this normal if you don't release pressure when it sounds the beeps? Great video for this new Instant Pot mom lol ... thank you for the great instructions!!

Well this is a year old video, but thats ok. Im going to the kitchen and do the watter test. Next im going to make pasta for a tuna salid. Just something easy. Next will be a beef roast with red potatoes, carrots, and on yoos.

originally was given a Lux50 by my daughter about 4-years ago. It died this year (electronics) and I bought a Duo60 to replace it. My brother received one of the new Duo Evo Plus for Christmas. He was asking me questions about it and not making sense out of some of the answers. Now I know why. I'll send him a copy of this.

Hi, I recently bought the Instant pot 8 qt duo with the toggle switch and the pin that drops for the venting. It was delivered last week and I put the inside pot and Stuff in the dishwasher because I wanted to make sure it was good and sanitized and I kid you not, I was doing the pressure cooking water test while I was watching your video! I thought hard boiled eggs would be good to start with after doing the water test, so I'm going to try that next. I've never owned a pressure cooker before, so I feel more comfortable starting off small. There is no steam mode, only pressure cook, and a bunch of other stuff that I will try later. So I figured hitting pressure cook was the one to do the test with.

Although I did everything as in the manual & this video. But: while the screen was still showing ON there was steam coming out for few seconds. Then it started counting down. Whilst counting down it released steam on and off too. Then it showed END, I had a look at the pin / float valve which was stll popped up (indicates pressure) and it oozed some more steam. Is all this ooze normal?

Best video I've seen on the first run of an instapot. No information on running this first test in the book. Had to delay one day to use my pot so I could watch this video first. You could write a more informative booklet, but what's not to like about the extra money to be made from utube.

Just what I needed since the pretty looking manual really misses what beginners need -- not a word about the layout of the display eg that you have to hold down the + button for as long as it needs to rack up one digit at a time. Hope I never need to cook for 2 hours! Anyway I ran the water test after watching your video and I have the ingredients for my first cook-up: ratatouille !!! My first wife was French from Nice and so I'm used to enjoying that and later I used to cook it in an old-fashioned pressure cooker on my gas burner stove so I hope this time it turns out OK including sauteing the onions etc slightly before tossing in all the cubed veges and liquids. But not tonight ..... Huw in Florida
