Really helpful tutorial. This one tends towards basic, but Walmsley slows down and explains some fundamentals that are helpful for beginners but still solid reminders for more advanced users.

This is a super helpful tut. I've been using xpFollow Spline, but that shit always leaks particles... and drives the user up the wall. this works 100%

something I struggle with a lot is something that should be so simple-growing particles scale (or is it radius?) over time using the xpScale modifier. Can someone help me understand what the difference between particle scale and particle radius is? When/why would you use one or the other? When I'm playing around with a scene and I try using xpScale I can never remember if I should be modifying particle scale or radius and so inevitably my data mapping never works properly

SSAO isn't working for my X-Particles for some reason. When I enable SSAO, it works just fine for all other objects in my scene but not for my particles. I have my particle settings exactly like this video yet my SSAO shading doesn't show. Does anyone have a solution for missing SSAO shading on particles?

Bob, very generous in sharing your knowledge in these times of confinement. I have a little question. I'm using X-Particles Build 824 Beta Access and so I know it's not the final version. The "Other Objects" folder has been replaced by "Utilities". In the list of objects available for this folder there is no longer "xpCache", you have to look for it in the X-Particles menu. Is there any particular reason for doing this? I would just like to know the logic of this choice. Thank you to the whole team.

Great tutorial. How could I add a little turbulence to add some variance to the particle motion without them deviating from the spline shape or the sphere surface?

create a duplicate flowfield, set it to turbulence instead of spline and drop the strength down until you're happy.

Only with gpu it makes fun working with xparticles. After the promissed gpu Option and the update i switch to houdini.

The limit I think is a C4D itself, a viewport that does not utilize GPUs at max.
