so helpful man. my water return port on the intake broke off due to corrosion, the90 is .5mm thick and looks galvanized. my truck is at 158000. thank you for posting your hard work

Thanks for the description. I had this work done by a reputable shop and I was curious about what they did. Mine had clips broken and the shop replaced them and my 200k 08 f150 now runs great again. Thanks

I'm glad you found the video informative and helpful that's exactly why I posted it. When I started searching for information related to the p2004 trouble code on our 4.2 L V6 engines I didn't really find much of anything.

@@cpthillbilly i had a lean code (P0171) which was incorrect it was actually rich but at least they chased it to the intake runner and the broken clips on the butterfly, I believe. And 2 weak injectors. Changed plugs, wires ( both had 80k) and coil had weak spark. $1100 total. It is worth the cost because its a great truck that looks almost new. Thanks again

What about a leaky gasket where the lever goes into the lower manifold? I have that problem which is causing lean code. Stumbled on your video. In process of how to resolve that leak

I think you would need to remove your lower intake so that you can replace that seal. ????

@@chadhalsted6067 more like replace lower intake at $700 for the part. I plugged off the heater vent control vacuum line and it brought leak down enough to stop the engine code.

I got same year truck as well.These are actually damn good engines. I got 227,000 on my truck.

I think so too. Mine has 239k and still doesn't smoke.

Do you need to drain any antifreeze out of the radiator before starting this job? One guy said you do but I want to know if you had to. Thanks

No, I didn't drain any out before hand. I think there is a coolant line that goes to the upper intake but I dint recall muc if anything coming out of there.

Where can I find the actuator for this motor ? Not even ford dealer has it

Im not sure if you can. I replaced the whole unit from RockAuto.com when I replaced mine.
