I predicted 181 on the type r motor. I actually think the 3" exhaust is too large for this motor. I had a 2.5" mandrel exhaust with magnaflow cat on my usdm, with headers and intake. The only difference when I first tuned was that I had in ctr cams and I made 191hp. With a built b20 block, skunk2 pro2 cams, intake manifold and some other mods I made 223hp
@lacaro85652 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! 3" is better for Forced induction not N/A
@TheBb6prelude2 жыл бұрын
@@lacaro8565 totally don't agree at all. It's been proven to be faster up top and by a significant amount with 3 inch straight pipe. My 2.0 made 15 plus at the wheels 2.5 with 2.5 muffler vs 3 inch with 3 inch muffler. Straight on both. You go 2.5 if you want to be slow.
@TheBb6prelude2 жыл бұрын
Negative. Once tuned a 3inch will make more every time even on 1.8 b series.
@1CraigE12 жыл бұрын
@@TheBb6prelude that is all well and good but in this scenario it may be imcorrect. Firstly he doesn't have on a straight pipe and also has on a cat. Secondly it is my understanding that he plans to track the car which is why he spent so much on suspension etc and while taking advantage of gains up top might be good on the street, on the track you want to take advantage of where the car performs best. With the stock ecu and stock cams even the tuner said that the car is choking out up top. Majority of the gains are in the mid-range. Yes with more top end he can certainly take advantage of straightaways but for cornering, will it help with entering, carrying speed through and exiting corners efficiently?
