My best car flip so far was an $1800 1992 Civic VX. Stereotypical deal, old lady drove it to the grocery and church since new and daughter sold it when she passed. 139k miles, all stock, all dealership maintained. Texted her within 30 seconds of the ad being up and I was at her house within 20 and her phone already had 10 texts when I arrived. I did a full detail with paint correction and the car came out absolutely immaculate. Sold it for $6600 a month later to a dude who drove two states to come get it.

Have you looked for any Honda hatch in the states? 2k would give you a roller maybe half the condition as this and not with paint like that lol. You are right though you have to have cash ready and go as soon as see you the deal.

I live an hr from these guys and I bought a 2010 civic si sedan for $2000 flat in 2019 flipped it 2 weeks later for $5100. Granted I randomly came across this deal from some guy I was on a crew with. All it needed was a battery. You’d be surprised how many people won’t even go look at a car if it just needs a jump. Also copped a 192km 540i individual for $3800 a month ago.

Pull all the wiring out of the shell and swap back in the entire wiring and interior from the parts car. Start from known good. Scrap all the dodgey mods on the shell and replace with stock parts, then upgrade where applicable. Shitcan the entire interior on the shell. Damn that is terrible. Use every bit of the parts car goodness (minus rust)

I would also do this to a degree, but I'd use the same jumper harness that the previous K series used in the grey shell.

@@DavidTeleiosis I’d test the shit out of that jumper harness tho. If they’ll do shoddy wiring and mods in one spot they’re bound to in another. Always good to start with known good. Better foundation for reliability imho.

Used to have an EP3 with that same, non Type R/S K20. Absolutely bullet proof with tons of tuning potential. Magic engines 👍

That front is jacked, I'd weld a support bar connecting the bottom. Also I'd rip out the completely wiring a buy a stock wiring set up so you can set it up how you like it.

Had a k-tuned shifter box in my rsx-s, swapped to an acuity 4 way and it’s night and day difference. Skip the k-tuned you’ll thank me later

Primer grey seems to be the fashion, I dunno why (the OE Honda colour is Sonic Gray Pearl I believe). I don't hate it though. 🙂 12:53 I just noticed on second viewing that the Civic is the same colour as their Bendpak lift, lol. 😂

The cut core support is no problem. They do absolutely nothing for rigidity from a suspension dynamics perspective. Everything in front of the front strut tower/front subframe mount perch is honestly just there for logistics. You could tube the chassis in front of that point with no detriment. Dont sweat it. Add what you want back for convenient mounting uses, etc. **in the context of a race car** obviously the front frame extensions play a role during frontal crash damage instances.

Easier to run the electric power steering mode instead of routing the OEM pump save on the parasitic drag more compact package. I wouldn't trust the exedy disk if the springs are rattling like that past experience they fail do to the springs popping out.

The friction material never wears out on K-series clutches, its always the springs that burst out and cause havoc. Considering they are already rattling in that clutch, it's almost done.

That EK hatch was the first car I bought brand new and I put about $10k in upgrades into it. If the hack-up job didn't screw-up the suspension system, I found that Eibach Pro-Kit and Tokico shocks (from back in the days) were perfectly tuned for this car (along with all the struts bars to give it some rigidity). I'd put the battery back where it belongs cause car's balance was spot-on. If car's genes is still intact, DP has no chance in hell.

Oh man, I'm super excited for this series! The back to back comparisons are going to be great. Can you guys scale them and add ballast to the EK to get the weights the same? I think EK's start with a weight advantage anyway so leveling that out would really make it a ITR B18 versus budget K build battle. Looking forward to seeing them both come together! I would relocate that battery to stock location or inside the car with a proper battery box. For a track car you want as much weight centrally mounted and not overhanging the wheelbase. Further if this car was a road car and not to mention even a circuit car that is a very bad spot to house a battery. In a slight bingle it’s a fire risk.

Definitely swap the Integra front brakes for 2 piston calipers from a 95 Acura legend w/ first gen crv brackets 07 Mini Cooper non s rotors and 05 tsx brake pads !

Fun Fact - Ford Focus SVT is an insanely similar match in performance to an integra type r. 0-60 within 0.1 second, and 1/4 mile within 0.1 seconds of each other.
