@@aseprdz you've wasted the money on the processor man. The processor can't reach it's full potential with that motherboard, you could have gone with 13400f with decent B660 or B760 motherboard, if you were on a tight budget. Else you can go with Z series motherboard.

yep, pointless spend unless you are sure you'll change cpu later rather than move to a totally new build (generally more likely). We put an old business pc's i7-8700 / 1151 board with a basic gpu (still good) and we could go to a i9-9900 cpu on this, as max/ultra settings send the cpu to 100%. Right now that's still a pricey cpu and by the time we wish to upgrade there's likely many other choices to consider over just changing the cpu.

Bought the z790 Steel Legend with a i5 13600K for my new pc. Used a 2060Super from my old pc at first but bought 2weeks ago the RX6700XT to replace that. For now im done for the next 2/3 years, then i only have to upgrade the GPU and after 5 years, just the CPU :) The reasoning was being future proof and i like to think i am. All in total was around 1400,- (same as my old off the shelf Lenovo desktop 6 years ago :) )

I recently did a build with a I5-13600k and a Asus Tuf Z690 (nice). Works great but the board didn't let me enable XMP on my 5200 DDR5 RAM. I was still able to get it up to 4800Mhz but anything faster wouldn't boot

You have to make sure your RAM does support XMP mode. My PC have 16GBx2 Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5600 and it does supported XMP and I enabled it successfully.

Also if your motherboard are unable to turn on XMP mode, try flashing BIOS with latest version for fixing issues.

The problem is that ever since nvidia killed sli, you have to spend a crap ton of money to get an 8x + 8x + 4x pcie configuration. There is other purposes for having that configuration than 2 GPU in SLI. Not that long ago you could spend less than 500$ and get that + a decent I5.
