wait this only has 2.9K views? how tf? edit: My original comment was made at 2AM (lol) so let me point out a few things now that I'm actually awake. First, the claim that ram is "power hungry": SSDs use more, but were not similarly called power hungry in the video. Not to mention, my DDR5 module (2x16gb) usually uses 0.25~1W. maxing out at 2W for vovsoft and 3W at MemTest64 LPDDR was also not even mentioned in the video, even though portable devices are also mentioned later. Another inaccuracy is saying that portable devices use SSDs: Yes, phones have dedicated flash memory, and SSDs have flash memory too, but that does not mean that you have an SSD in your phone. Frankly, it wouldn't even fit: It's a device originally meant to meant to mimic the form and interface of HDDs. Of course, we have NVMe SSDs now, so this doesn't really apply nowadays. This is still a really great video though. I'd definitely recommend it.

Thanks for the detailed feedback and for taking the time to revisit your thoughts! Really appreciate your insights. You're right about the power consumption - I should've been more precise there. DDR5 is definitely more efficient than older RAM, and the comparison with SSDs wasn't as balanced as it could've been. Good call on mentioning LPDDR too - that's an important distinction for mobile devices. Regarding portable devices and storage, you make an excellent point. I oversimplified by calling phone storage "SSDs" when it's more accurately described as embedded flash memory. Thanks for catching that - it's important to be accurate with these terms. I'm glad you still found the video worthwhile overall, despite these inaccuracies. Your detailed feedback is super helpful for improving future content. Thanks for watching closely and sharing your knowledge - it helps make the channel better! And yeah, we're still growing those view counts. Hopefully more tech enthusiasts like you will discover the channel soon!

Love your video but it somehow lack some few details that data goes from the slow SSD to the fast DRAM and lastly to a much faster called the CPU cache back and fourth data transfer. Since you only explained about memory so its fine :)
@1TekTak2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the love and the thoughtful feedback! You're totally right about those extra details on data transfer. Good catch on the CPU cache - that's some next-level tech knowledge. Maybe I'll dive deeper into that in a future video. Appreciate you watching and sharing your insights!
