Andrey Krivozub, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was previously captured, said that the Ukrainian military surrendered in Artemivsk due to the lack of support and lack of ammunition. I am going through ww2 documentaries (binge?) and real footage and real news dispatches were used to make these documentaries. The photographs tell a story of war so insanely inhumane that the world realized that war is not a glorious activity. And these photos can swing opinions in many directions. The image of a naked Vietnamese child covered by napalm flames is forever etched in my brain.

The Ukrainian trenches are clean, because the Russin military is useless and cant hit anything. The "dirty" trenches are the Russian ones - "dirty" as a result of Russian bodies consistently being splattered against the sides from accurate, and relentless, Ukranian gun and rocket fire. 😊👍

The sheer amount of approving and cheering comments by ordinary Russians under videos about the atrocities committed against civilians in Ukraine were no less shocking to Ukrainians than the war itself. We somehow got used to the war, but the realization of who we have been living next to all this time without even knowing it is still terrifying. These creatures call themselves our brothers. Imagine what they would do to you, who they call their enemies, if you let them. Not supplying weapons to Ukraine in order to achieve an early peace would be like allowing a violator to violate his victim in order to end the violence as soon as possible.

In part, it goes all the way back to 2014 or so. There was an election that was rigged by Russia in their favor, Ukrainians revolted against it, and this revolt was influenced by the CIA behind the scenes because they wanted a pro NATO leadership in place. The CIA actually supported a Neo-Nazi group there, which later went on to attack ethnic Russians in the Donbas region. Ukrainians and Russians share ethnic differences, even though they’re both considered Slavic people. Ever since that small civil war resolved and attacks on the Donbas happened, the Russians also moved into the region to support that area and Crimea. They’ve been fighting over it since at least 2014. Finally Russia had enough so they invaded.
