Why does it take so long to realise the Chinese are covertly interfering in Australian politics. China has Australian politicians in their pockets. Sam Dastyari is a classic example of a politician being paid by a foreign government. He should be shot for treason. Surely the Chinese people in Australia must realise their lives here would be very very different if the Chinese government was transparent of what they’re trying to do. Chinese people in Australia have been here for more than one hundred years and have done great things for this country, with food, culture and a hard work ethic. Chinese Australians need to realise their freedoms here were not earned by them, but by the Australian people fighting for conditions for one hundred years. They are welcome of course, but need to realise this is Australia not China. Australians do NOT want the Chinese government interference in anything Australian. From a European perspective, Australia has no serious traditions of operating as an independent fully sovereign nation-state. It's been always someone else's colony or playground. Even after formally gaining independence, Australia's security and foreign policy has been tightly managed by other powers. It's not surprising thus that Australian elites are so accommodating towards a new rising power i.e. Communist China. They are after all historically conditioned to serve "the stronger one". Submission and acquiescence are at the very core of the Australian political culture. I'm pretty sure that even the recent push-back against the CPC infiltration has not been initiated by the Australian political elites themselves. We have a huge conflict of interest in Australia. With active United Front as an example, who do these Chinese serve? Australia or China? Relax, Lolly Pop. People of Chinese ethnicity in Oz are a fairly mixed bunch. There are those who have descended from early arrivals in the gold rush days. Most would probably be unable to speak or read Chinese and many would be the progeny of intermarriage with other Australians. Then there are the post-war arrivals from places like Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia. Again, most would have children or grandchildren who would be more conversant in Strayan than Cantonese or Mandarin. Only in the last decade have there been arrivals from mainland China on a large scale. These are predominantly Mandarin speakers. You have to ask why would they come to Australia if they loved China so much? If history is any guide, there will be some rough spots initially, but they too (or their children) will eventually blend into Australian society. This doesn't mean that there will be no bad eggs in the carton. But taking Huang Xiangmo as an example, they will be ostracised after they are exposed for who they really are. United Front members will be keeping their heads down if they know what's good for them.

what are the differences among Chinese, American and British influences in Australia? Majority of Australian mines have heavy stakehold of western nations. In other word; they provide peanut tax and all profit goes to other nations. Any outside influence is undesirable. Any parliamentary system has inherent characterstics to depend on finance; as funds are needed to run the election campaign. Traditionally; Australia is a military post of the USA, the UK. Better to have an independent identity than be a military post of any foreign nation. Why people are only blaming CCP and not political culture of democratic nation as well is not known. Both parties are responsible for degradation of human rights . In 50's ; it were Communist threat from then USSR. After 9/11, paradigm moved to religious entity. Now, CCP threat. We have to understand; politicians capitalize on phobias. Robert Menzies stayed as PM for approximately 16 yrs and main reason was fear mongering about communism threat from the USSR. John Howard also stayed as PM for a long time due to election was after 9/11, Tampa Affairs and Iraq war. He surely capitalized on phobia of common people. Which political party has most to benefit making it an election campaign ; ie the CCP threat? The concept of patriotic may not be highly developed in the country; Australia; as people people define themselves as british Australian, Italian Australian, Scottish Australian. Lebanese Australian etc. CCP surely has an aim to be a superpower and Australia may be the battlefied for both superpowers.
