Thank you for the prices report! I can’t make sense of the pricing, though it seems junk food/not-good-for-you comfort food, is really expensive. I can’t wait ‘till you get to things like flour and sugar . . . Thank you!

@dawnjohnson8739 junk food is definitely more expensive I think than healthy food. I have seven more aisles to go and I'm getting to the normal Foods now.🙂

Hello! Hope your Christmas was good. I knew some neighbors several years ago that lived in Alaska & they mentioned there were stores Called "Dollar Tree." In Alaska .These stores are in the lower western states also. They have some groceries but they have stuff like shampoo, toothpaste, laundry soap, garbage bags, paper towels etc. & all kinds of household gadgets at very good prices. These stores may only be in the larger cities in Alaska but would be worth checking out to stock up. Looks like high prices in the store you were in, but that's Alaska Heard it was real expensive in Hawaii due to shipping. Have a good evening ⚘️❄️🌙

@Janis-wm8eb thank you, hope you had a great Christmas also and hope you and your family have a happy and healthy 2025 🙂 I'm sure they have Dollar stores in Anchorage and possibly also in Fairbanks although I don't remember seeing any myself when I was there, but I wasn't really looking. In the interior of Alaska or remote Alaska I don't think it would be possible for these stores to survive because the cost of rent and the cost to bring the goods here would be too high, and there just aren't enough people living in these remote areas. Most businesses survive purely from the tourist. They did have a thrift store in Valdez as well as in Glenallen, both considered remote, although the Valdez one was quite expensive. But most people here are going to buy those things on eBay or Amazon.... I'll try to list all of the stores we have here in Healy... an Asian restaurant, a NAPA store, grocery store, 3 gas stations / convenience stores, one restaurant, the hardware store and gun shop which is inside the grocery store, the library, a tiny place for coffee, a cafe and the post office. In the summer we also have a Thai food truck that parks in front of one of the convenience stores. And the only reason we have so much is so many tourist drive through in the summertime either going to Denali (as the entrance to the park is in Healy) or heading to Anchorage or Fairbanks as we kind of sit in the middle of them.

@asgeirloftsson Iceland, cool. I lived in Austria for 32 years and I can take the higher prices because Austria wasn't particularly cheap haha but I'm guessing in Iceland things are quite expensive also?
