my baby is 4 months old i did IF 18:6 for one week and my milk supply dropped drastically and i am an oversupplier. Went from producing 400mls per 4 hourly pump session to producing 150mls despite increasing my fluid intake so sadly i had to stop and my milk is back full swing

I was thinking to myself an 18 hour fasting window sounds a bit too long while BF. Idk I guess we’re all different, but I wouldn’t try IF for that long. Maybe a 14-16 hour fast…?
@blessedofgod22419 ай бұрын
@@sistertujuana4834 The only way IF worked for me if after I stopped breastfeeding, before then its just too much hustle and its not fair for the baby especially with milk supply and its also unfair to your body that's also adjusting. So I would definitely not recommend it.

And as a Muslim I am wellnown with fasting. Butttt I was so scared that my milk supply would drop. I will try I.F. again hopefully I will help me and other woman.

@@User-s868 wauw times flies.. I didn't intermittent fast a lot. Now my child is older almost 1,5 years old I am giving it more seriousness. For me personally I don't recommend fasting while breastfeeding if they are so little. During Ramadan I used my right to eat and drink. And during this winter vacation I returned everything that I missed and I feel more comfortable. I lost some weight so i really works. Hopefully in the future more succes for me and everybody else.

Your starting weight 3 months post partum and my own are strikingly similar, even down to the differences between the measurements on your legs (I also had a knee injury which made my muscles atrophy a bit). I am 3 months post partum right now, 209lbs and wanting to begin IF. At first I considered ADF, but studies show that going longer than 20 hours fasting may affect milk production so I am reconsidering my windows. It is encouraging seeing someone just like me fasting while breastfeeding and achieving positive results :) Keep at it! I will too!

How did it go with your milk supply? Did you go on with it?
@caroc43272 жыл бұрын
I’ve been doing it since I wrote this post and it has been going well. I realized that my kids already do IF. What I mean is that my kids go to bed at 7pm, wake up around 7am then then we have breakfast sometimes around 9. That’s 13 hour fast right there! And they don’t eat all the way up to bed time, so they are fasting sometimes even 14 hours if we have an early dinner. And my toddler is one 2 years old. If it’s normal for them and it’s healthy for them cause they need so much sleep, then I find it crazy that I “shouldn’t” do 16:8. I have had good success with that. I have noticed that if I don’t eat well during my window, I am way too hungry later. So I have to eat well. I have also noticed many other benefits than just weight loss. Actually the weight hasn’t come off as much, but the other benefits make it worth it and I know I will lose the weight in the long term. Plus I feel like it’s a lifestyle I want to stick to. My husband has been doing it too and of course he’s been loosing tons of weight. lol.

I was IF and keto before getting pregnant. Following Dr. Mindy pelz. She says don't fast past 13 hours while pregnant or nursing because the autophagy that happens is flushing toxins out....and could be in your breast milk. If this sounds wrong please let me know. I'm dying to start again. Baby is 6 weeks old today and I'm ready to feel good again.

Thank you sooo much for this video! My baby is 13 weeks and I actually gained weight while breastfeeding (after initially losing most of my baby weight). That has been so discouraging. I also heard that you shouldn't diet at all while breastfeeding so I've kind of been stuck in a bad rut. But my milk supply is fine now (hopefully it has regulated) so I am starting IF tomorrow! 💪🏼

I just had my baby 3 months ago and feeling very similar to how you were. I lost half of what I gained in pregnancy in the first few weeks but around the 6 week mark I hit a plateau and I’ve been unable to lose hardly anything even with dieting and I find myself excusing it to breastfeeding feeling discouraged thinking I will have to wait till I’m done breast feeding to lose weight. I’m wanting to start intermittent fasting, it has worked for me in the past. Roughly, how many calories did you try to consume while in your eating window? I think I struggle a little bit with getting enough calories. And knowing what to eat that is healthy to get enough calories in.

This was helpful and impressive! Salute you for loosing 20lbs in 3 months!! My goal is also to lose about 20lb but I have been afraid to do any kind of detoxing/fasting as it’s widely advised not to do so. And I have been afraid that it would affect my breast milk production. I also have health problems which would benefit if I go on fast as well as if I start to exercise. I have two kids and a husband and work full time so it’s hard for me to fight out when I can eat the latest.

Thanks for this video! I was really looking for exactly this type of video. Prior to getting pregnant I did keto and IF in some form or fasion for a year and lost about 50 pounds. I am currently breastfeeding and was hoping to get back to feeling like myself after having my daughter a day after my 36th birthday. I don't plan on doing keto, but was thinking that walking and doing IF again would at least give me the lighter feeling I have been missing and hopefully get to feeling more like myself again! Thank you for such a relatable video! I put on 80 lbs with my pregnancy, despite continuing to eat healthy and reasonable portions. I loved fasting and eating low carb prior to pregnancy. Once I delivered I lost about 20 lbs which was mostly baby and fluids etc. I’ve been stagnant since and hovering at around 210-215 lbs. I’m not as active as I’d like to be, so will need to improve that. I was hesitant to IF as my milk supply isn’t strong. Good to see other women in a similar position to me. Too often on social media, we see women snap back as of nothing happened lol. Out of curiosity, how tall are you?

That’s so encouraging especially since you can’t cut down on calories while breastfeeding. I started and lost 3 pounds initially, it’s my third week, but now I’ve gained a pound instead which is discouraging. I try not to overeat and stay healthy away from junk food. Great video! I’m 9months PP and am just a week in to intermittent fasting, and calorie restriction while breastfeeding. ❤️ Slow and steady, already lost 5lbs. I eat about 300 calories on my “fasting days” and 1000calories on my “not fasting days” the more i learn the more it seems it’s that time between meals that matters the most so I really appreciate your videos!
@mel_pnw3 жыл бұрын
How is your supply maintaining at 1000 calories? That seems very very low, I wouldn't think anything less 1500-1800. If breastfeeding burns 300-500 calories that seems very minimal.

A Doctor that specializes in IF says not to go past 15 hours of fasting while nursing to avoid baby getting the die off... I'm curious if you noticed extra fussiness in your daughter while doing IF... I had begun IF and was doing 16:8 for a few days before I heard this and have since cut back to 15:9.... But if I could go longer without effecting the baby, I'd like to.
@supealadaniela1133 Жыл бұрын
Late reply, but no fussiness from my baby. I am mostly IF for 18 to 20 hours but I try to eat around 1700-1800 calories. I do not feel that there is less milk, but my baby is 9 months old and eats a lot of solids so I do not worry.
