I've lived in Canada my whole life. Northern Ontario, Southern Ontario, the GTA, Manitoba. Half of these I've never heard. Chesterfield I use, Mickey I know, Toque of course, Give'r obviously, tabernac on the right occasion.

It's probably the most accurate way to describe it. I mean, an English speaker may opt for "fuck" or "shit" in the same spot that a francophone would drop a "tabernac" but those words both have additional uses that don't match "tabernac" at all. Likewise pointing out that "tabernac" is the French word for a tabernacle says something about Quebec history but gives no sense of the word use as an obscenity.

Jpegsus "Hoser" is actually an expression that was briefly popular in the Ottawa Valley in the late 1970s. People know about it because it was used by fictional characters Bob and Doug McKenzie. I've heard dickered before, but never used as being drunk, typically when I hear it it's meant as someone has messed around with, screwed or messed something up, like for example "someone dickered with my guitar" I'm also pretty sure that bunny hug is a Saskatchewan thing, here in Manitoba I've never heard that term besides when a KZbinr who is originally from Saskatchewan said it in one of her vlogs

In my high school the "p-lot" is where all the smokers hang out (the only place close to the school thats not school prpperty so theyre technically allowed to smoke there) and so teachers will sometimes tease students, like if theyre late for class, " were you out in the p-lot smokin' darts?" And its just a joke around the school

I work at a bungee site here near Ottawa were a lot of our clientel is not from here and we often use slangs like ferda, giver, out for a rip, etc... Lemme tell ya it makes quite the impression and makes them quite happy when we use some of these, especially ferda boys right before jumping Love it!

Where I'm from here is some slang or very native words that mean something else in many places: Chum: Best friend or gf/bf. It gets a bit confusing. Crawdadies: Crayfish/ shrimp. La la la: Used to express that your annoyed. Usually used by teens. Owly: Something painful.
