I really like this generation of international trucks, I learned how to drive on my grandpas 1951 international. I have two 1/2 ton 2WD short bed trucks and one 3/4 ton 4WD long bed, dual side bed mount spare tires with a factory four-speed and PTO.

That truck brings back memories. My Dad had one as his farm truck when I was young. It had 1 piece curved windshield and grill with vertical bars. Really wish I had at least kept the doors when it got scrapped. My Dad had “Ray Schrab and Sons”professionally painted on the doors. At the time there were 5 of us boys. He and Mom eventually had 7 sons and 3 daughters. There are 7 of us and my Mom left, she’s 95 and still lives on the farm they bought in 47. Almost brings tears to my eyes.

Looking at the cab on that truck brings me back to my first job after leaving school. Wasn't the same truck. It was a Bedford, but the cab shape was very similar, but painted a dark red, but like a Farmall. I think it might have had a single rear window. Not sure, was a long time ago.

I had a AL110, same engine from memory silver diamond about 3.7 litre, tough ol truck had been rolled on its side with little damage I rebuilt the engine and sold it not long after

Hi Jim, yes my dad is in a few videos. He was on the forklift in this video. He and my mum built a house at my place a few years after I bought it. My family on both sides have always been involved with trucks and equipment and growing up I was always with them, especially dad when he was driving when I was really young the my grandfather as I got older then after he passed I got left a few old tractors and it grew from there. I have a lot of Detroit powered stuff here mate so yes I like them also

Hi Stuart thanks for watching. The job turned out great. Probably could of found a faster diff with great difficulty I’d say but the nostalgia of changing twin sticks also comes into it. Yes we call them Joey boxes here mate. The Bedford is a nice truck. I did a video of it but I didn’t go any further with it because I thought it was a bit boring to be honest. I did a welsch plug on it and some engine mounts for a bloke so that’s basically all it was but if there’s interest in it I can edit and upload it

Nice old bedford sitting in the background there. I'm doing one up at the moment and chasing the front parking lights, they tend to rust out on the bottom half of the frame front. Let me know if you have any to part with. I have watched both videos and guess the second gearbox gives you splits in the standard gears. My bedford is lucky to do 80km/h in top and have just got the next ratio up diff which should give me about 90km/h. My question to you is that I have another standard four speed box and intend to put it directly behind the first box, but backwards. That way the two outputs will bolt together and I will have to make a shaft to suit the input shaft to tail shaft. I should only need top gear as 1:1 and using third gear as an over drive. I don't know if this will be right to split gears or just leave it in third on flat ground and or use the front box as normal with the second in fourth and just change to third as an over drive. Can you see any potential problems of running the second box backwards. Cool video keep them comming.

Hi mate sorry for late reply. Yes it’s to split the ratios between the main gears. To run another box the same as the main it would have to be fitted backwards yes. As for Bedford parts I was only working on that one for a bloke. There’s one next door I may be getting in the near future but not yet confirmed. Thanks for watching and sorry again

Hi Garth I think it’s Palomino cream, factory colour. Code 102. I spoke with the owner and he seems to think it’s a factory colour that it was done in. I could be wrong but that colour is near identical to it so I’d imagine that’s it

I think they are .73 roughly mate. Just from research when I was fitting it. It’s almost a full gear when going from direct to over, I know it’s not but it drops the revs a lot when making that change

Yes mate it’s out of an AACO or Acco. Not sure if the year. Would be late 60’s early 70’s I’d imagine
